My wife and I took the Pro over to the Ford dealer to pick up my Bronco after a minor warranty repair. She drove the Lightning home but I noticed she wasn’t keeping up with me. When she got home a few minutes after I did she said she couldn’t see over the dashboard of the Lightning since the Pro seats have no elevation adjustment. She is 5’2” tall and said she felt like an old lady looking between the steering wheel and the dashboard. I’ll work out a solution at some point, but for now she refuses to sit on a cushion and won’t be driving the Lightning. She’s never had trouble driving any other truck I’ve owned, but they all had some elevation adjustment available. I‘m 6’4” tall and find the Pro seats comfortable and supportive. I wouldn’t mind being able to lower the rear of the seat a bit like I can in my Bronco.

Ouch- I would not be happy with the Pro seats if it lacks elevation adjustment.

I am short at 5'7" and crank up the seat elevation big time in all my cars.

Glad my Lariat has power seats and adjustable power pedals too..

I find the seat height to be higher than I would choose, so maybe at 5’7” it would be ok. Power pedals would also help and should be standard on all vehicles.

I’m very pleased with my Pro, extremely good value for money. I knew getting into it there would be a few issues like this. Some will be correctable, others I’ll have to live with. For the price difference to a Lariat I could get my wife a Bolt to follow me with 🤣

My wife is 4’11”. I knew that I’d need both a height adjustable seat as well as adjustable pedals for her to be able to drive. So Lariat it is.

That said, most likely the only time my wife will be behind the wheel of the Lightning is post-tailgating when I may have had a few too many.

My wife is 5 foot-ish and can easily drive our 2021 Lariat. It is comical the way the seat has to rise up and tilt when she activates her memory setting.

It's too bad about the Pro. The Lariat seats with memory pedals are awesome for short people.

My wife and I won't have that problem, however, these seats should be the same as the ICE versions.

Keep an eye out at junkyards or Part salvages, might be able to buy a pair of seats with the functionality you need and just swap them into your Pro.

I am hoping to find some different XLT or similar seats to swap in later, but if not the Pro seats are perfectly serviceable for me at 6’4”. I haven’t looked at the other non power seats in F-150’s to see what functionality is available without power or if my Pro has a plug for the power seat. The Lightning is my work truck, so there isn’t much need for my wife to drive it.

I too am concerned whether my shorter wife will be okay driving our Pro. Seat height adjustment is a most basic feature and lack thereof could potentially pose a legitimate safety issue. What a misstep for Ford not to include it.

Interesting comment from someone with a ~2021 gas F-150 XL:

I actually measured the from the seat to the ceiling on an XL and XLT raised all the way up, and the difference was less than 1" (XLT higher).

Most of the complaints in that thread are that the Pro seats are TOO HIGH for tall people.

Anyone have an issue with sitting too high in the non-adjustable Pro seats?

I'm surprised nobody has said it yet...Time for a taller wife?

Maybe switching seats from a manual adjust ICE truck could solve your problem.

The seats are higher than I prefer, but still fine for me at 6’4”. There is plenty of head room.

Initially I tried to find a taller wife, but I fell in love with this one and she’s awesome. I’ve never dated a woman taller than 5’4”. The tall ones I pursued always ended up with shorter guys.

My wife is 5"5. I am 5'4.5". If I can drive it, she can drive it. I usually set my seat an inch or two lower than her and a bit closer to the wheel (she has longer legs and arms and I have the longer torso). Ideally this places our eyes in the same place so the rear view mirror can stay in one spot.
