General Grabber tires

My initial impression of the Grabbers is that they were just mediocre tires. But they have held up OK and actually perform way better than I anticipated in snowy conditions. They're horrible on dirt roads and gravel. I'm at almost 19K miles and will see if I can get through the summer with them. Will put on new shoes this fall. Not sure what yet. I'd like something more capable, but I also can't sacrifice any range.

I have my own issues and opinions on the OE General Grabbers, but what are your issues with them?

my biggest gripe is tread life. Even though its rated at 116 for load, its a very soft tire meant for highway driving and comfort. If I'm lucky i'm going to get 18K out of it while its rated for 65K.

I have the stock Grabbers on my Lariat ER, 23k miles and plenty of tread left. Took off road once, went up the service road to the top of Mt. Lemmon which is all dirt and rocks. Did just fine, my brother followed in his Ram and complained that I was going too fast. I never felt like I was out of control, was a very good ride. I'll be doing it again soon to go camping up there and escape the heat.
