So previously I posted about the semi-hidden default in the FordPass app that would turn your seat heaters on if you used the climate pre-conditioning feature, even in hot weather.

Gremlins have now apparently infested my Lightning, or the truck wishes to just mess with me...

For the last few days, the seats have not been backing out during shut-down. No biggie, I couldn't care less...

BUT the heated seats & steering wheel are defaulting to "On" - even when I do not use the climate pre-conditioning!

It's usually just the first start of the day, but it's rather frustrating when I'm driving down the road from my house in 90 degree weather and feel the seats warming...

I can't find any settings on the center screen that may have been changed by an OTA update or anything...

Anyone else experiencing this?

Or is it just gremlins?

I have had departure times toggle itself back on, but haven't had a problem with the heated seats turning on. When I remote start for climate, I have it set to turn on the ventilated seats.

I believe there is a setting for "Last use" or "Automatic" which way do you have yours set?

When I remote start, my truck always remembers how I last used the seat and steering wheel settings:

This time of year it's chilly in the morning so I flip it to warming of wheel & seat.

Later in the day when temps and solar heating while parked outside have drastically warmed the truck up, I hit remote start and need to change the settings from the morning to wheel off and seats cooled.

I'd forgotten about that setting. My truck defaulted to Automatic, but I didn't like how it chose and set it to Last Use as well.

The automatic setting does a poor job of measuring ambient temperature and making the correct call, I've left Ford feedback about it. Unfortunately last use really isn't helpful this time of the year where its 40F in the morning and 80F in the afternoon. When it gets colder more consistently I'll use it, for now I just have seats off in the Remote Start settings and flip the seats on manually when I get in.

I agree with all your comments, but this is not happening during remote start (or "climate preconditioning" as I think it properly is termed) - it's happening when I just do a "regular" start!

My experience is not as aggressive as yours.

I have noticed that when I have the seats set to max cooling (most of the time), the I use the app to start the climate, the seat cooling changs to level 2 from level 3. This happens constantly when enabling climate.

I have seen only once, that if I leave the truck on level 2 seat cooling, use the app to enable climate, the cooling went up to level 3 without my input. Why didn't it go down to level 1?

Not terrible, annoying a bit, but another ding of the software crew attention to detail.

I wonder if any of the software guys at ford drive one of these. There are a half dozen of these quirks, that don't break anything, but don't behave as they should.
