How Do I Turn On Plug and Charge?

Edit: The solution was to cancel Blue Oval Charging Network and reactive it.


I turned off Plug and Charge by mistake a couple weeks ago while exploring the new FirdPass app layout. Since then I haven't been able to turn it back on. The slider moves from off to on, the screen dims with a loading wheel for a second then the slider moves back to off.

I verified Blue Oval Charge Network was active on Ford.com and there is a valid credit card on file. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S21, and the FordPass app version is 5.0.2.

I haven't used DC charging since my home charger was installed but we are camping at the end of the month and I may need to. I'd like Plug and Charge to work if possible.

2) Delete app, reboot phone, reinstall app, and try again.

If that doesn't work,

3) Delete cache, delete app, reboot phone, reinstall app, and try again. You may need to redo PaaK.

I tried to shut plug and charge off and just get the rotating blue semicircle. I switched screens and plug and charge still on when I switched back Sorry, no help here.
Might be a transient bug in Ford Pass.

FWIW, as I remember, If you have a membership with any of the popular DC charging outfits, it’s substantially cheaper to charge with that feature turned off.

I don't think you have to turn it off. You just have to activate the charger with the relevant app (Tesla or EA) before plugging in.

That wasn’t my experience. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was inconsistent.

I had to turn it off. Having it enabled automatically defaulted to the forpass app authentication, and billed accordingly via the forpass app. losing out on my EA member rates.
This was in December, perhaps it’s different currently.

Remember when the first step in troubleshooting was tapping on the gauge that was causing concern? And how sometimes tapping fixed it?

I still have all or most of the 250 kWh that came with the truck. Hopefully, I can draw from that if I DC charge.

I'm not even sure I'll need to DC charge. Supposedly our campsite has a 50A outlet. Plug and Charge would be nice to have though.

To use the free hours you have to charge at EA, and use Plug and Charge or activate with FordPass or Public Charging / Charge Assist.

There's an EA station near my house. I stopped there this morning to see if I could get it to work. Two of the six stalls were broken and the others were occupied.
