I had the same issue, but it was because the used light bar I bought on eBay was missing a pin in the connector. Fortunately, I was able to return it for a refund. The next light bar I ordered worked perfectly.

it may not help you, but checking the connector is a quick and easy thing to confirm.
That is ultimately what I was thinking based on the open circuit code. Unfortunately, I am outside of my return period for the Ebay one, but since they are relatively cheap, I ordered an OEM new one from Ford and will try that. I really appreciate your response.

Let me know if you are looking to off-load the non-working one, I might be interested as a project.

HELP! I ran into some issues during the firmware upgrade and now my driver's side headlight doesn't work. The firmware seemed to be installing fine until it hit an error "Loading Firmware Failed" and "Service Procedure has been interrupted".

I attempted to install the firmware again, but when I select the "LDCMA Module firmware update" in forscan, it says the following:

Unable to identify the Module
FORScan was unable to indentify this module, but found some compatible assemblies by hardware number.

And I can select the following:
NL7A-13B626-CG
NL7A-13B626-DG

Not sure what to select and risk making things worse... Any help is much appreciated!

EDIT: Looks like it would be the CG module. If I load my profile, it finds it stored in my profile and I am able to upgrade the firmware. Unfortunately, each time I upgrade, I get the same result. I've attached a screenshot here.

SOLVED! It was the OBD2 Scanner I was using. I was using the ELM327, which isn't fully supported by forscan. When using a supported scanner, the firmware upgrade went through without any issues!

You might want to add the year your truck is to your profile

If you haven't already, disconnect and reconnect to FORScan but don't choose an existing profile. This forces it to interrogate any new modules and not use the cache. If this contradicts what prior instructions say, then ignore. I'm not familiar with this mod but know common FORScan issues.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like that user has been seen since last fall. Can you provide some additional specifics regarding your truck and the attempted update?
  • Trim Options (Tow tech, Max tow, etc)
  • OBD-II Model
  • Any DTCs?
Any other info regarding the procedure that you think could be helpful in diagnosing the problem? Did the passenger side update successfully?

Edit: one more question, is your lightbar brand new?

Slightly off topic but my lightbar on my '23 XLT was installed crooked at the factory. If I'm reading the instructions correctly I would have to remove the front grill to make adjustments. Is that an accurate assessment?

Great How-To, by the way.

Probably your best bet but I’m not sure how much flexibility with respect to alignment is provided. I think the running joke is that they’re all crooked regardless.

I have one but have yet to install it so I’m just going off the posted images and video.

It depends how well the headlights and/or hood align relative to the fenders. You may have to loosen them and adjust their positions as well. But there is some wiggle room with the light bar mounting holes.
Fortunately for me, my Pro lined up satisfactorily by only adjusting the light bar position..
