I don't think I would change anything. While I guess I could have waited and gotten a higher spec'ed used Lariat for about the same price as what I paid for my Pro, my Pro was also brand new and I got to use it for the past year and a half.

I'd never go with a Cybertruck cause the price is too high and I want to be able to do actual truck things. The silverado looks decent, but too expensive for me. My Pro does everything I need it to do and I've added in all the functionality that I would have wanted from the higher spec'ed trims anyway (aside from the ER battery)

Kick your son out and tell him to walk the next time he ogles a CyberYuk. If I could go back, I’d have waited a few months for a 2024 with heat pump. When on an occasional road trip, I think “the ER and adaptive cruise sure would be nice,” but that’s so seldom it isn’t worth the extra cost.
Add the adaptive cruise control to your truck, it's totally worth it. Parts aren't that much and the job isn't that difficult if you're at all used to working on things. I added it to my Pro and it and the passive entry are my two favorite things

well,

I'd buy TWO Lightning PROs, instead of 'just' one : )

My only regret and what I would have done differently, is to expand my search for a better price to nationwide. I limited myself to about 500 mile radius and ended up paying over MSRP in Feb '23 for a demo '22 model. I at least didn't have to pay for dealer extras but I wish I hadn't been so impatient and done more searching. Ford had just raised prices and at the time I thought I was going to miss out on the tax credit for an ER.

The Flash trim is really what I would have preferred, but I would not want to have waited for it, so I'd still pay MSRP for a '22 with no deletes.

2024 Flash
I've had a 24 Flash since December, but no regrets so far. It is a great vehicle for all-around city commuting and truck stuff, and it can make longer trips when needed. Pro Power and Frunk are amazing when you need them, so I would not be happier with an ICE. Flash is the perfect trim for me.

I pulled the trigger when I learned that they paused production due to oversupply. This was associated with various discounts, 0% financing, and the threat that the EV tax credit might end in 2025. Only time will tell whether it was the right time to purchase.

I looked at Rivian, but the nearest surface center is five hours away. I don't like the Chevy style. The same goes for CyberTruck. GMC is too expensive at the moment. It's possible a lower trim GMC would have been worth the wait due to faster charge time, but I do not want a huge battery that removes the acceleration and 'sportiness' of the Lightning. I also didnt like reviews of the mid-gate causing noise, the driving experience, and lower quality interior in Chevy. Not sure if that would have translated to GMC.

Very happy so far. My only fears are the reliability of all the electronics, whether my local dealer will be competent to fix things, and if parts will be available in a timely manner.

Same, I like my 22 Lariat ER in first-year-only ATLAS BLUE and wouldn't want to give up my big screen, but she loves her 23 XLT ER in STONE GREY because it's the exact same color as our gravel road splash, so she never has to wash it, and she can take the dogs in it without worrying about what it cost (mine was $82k/$72k hers $73k/$46k which was basically what she sold her Tesla for). Wouldn't change either, and super glad we got 2 ERs with no deletes. Awesome trucks, hope they last forever.
Cheers

Happy with what I have, nothing that's released since is any better and ours gives us everything we need. Ford needs to do a better job with the software updates, but otherwise the truck does everything we want and more.

Love this truck; I've owned a bunch of F150s and this is the best so far. If not for the tax incentives I think I would have gone for a Platinum, but having said that I'm really enjoying the Lariat.
