As recommended by CD4TNF, I always keep both AC and DC adapters with me in my vehicle at all times.Hello from a New F-150 Lightning Owner in Florida!
Hey everyone! Excited to join the community! My name is Dustin, and I recently got a 2024 Ford Lightning Platinum. After researching EVs for a while, I finally made the switch, and Iโm loving it so far.
Iโm in Florida and own a home inspection business, so Iโm always on the road and looking for ways to integrate the truck into my workflow. One of the biggest reasons I chose the Lightning was the Pro Power Onboard featureโIโm currently exploring how to use it as a backup power source for my home in case of outages.
Some things Iโm currently working on:
Setting up a transfer switch to power my house with the truck
Learning the best charging setups for road trips
Finding great accessories to make the truck even better
Iโd love to hear any tips from experienced ownersโespecially about power management, must-have accessories, and charging strategies. Looking forward to learning from you all!
P.S Most of this was written by ai, but I had to ask it to do it for me. So it kind of counts. Lol!

I guess my first project will be to figure out the charging at home part since this truck doesn't come with the charging station pro, only the mobile charger. So either installing a 240v outlet or buying and installing the station pro or both...
Anyways just introducing myself. Will post pictures as soon as the truck gets here.
Hey everyone! Just figured I'd do an official introduction. I have watched this site for a while and it led me to pull the trigger on the lightning over the Rivian. I'm VERY glad I did too! I've had my '24 Lightning Lariat ER for a couple weeks and it is a nice machine. I did have an error code within a couple days and it was in the shop for a couple of weeks, but all-in-all I still love driving it and I still think it's an awesome truck.
We're also owners of a Tesla MY, so a few adapters and we can charge the truck just like we do our car. We are also very familiar with the EV pros/cons and I like not having to pay for $2.70 gas in middle Tennessee traffic. Lol
Anyways super happy to be here and I'm glad this resource exists to find answers to things.![]()

(My old Mazda that I traded in!)
Yea the fullsize pickup is FAR better! I hope the weather eases and you can get your delivery soon!Congrats! That is exactly me. I chose the lightning over the rivian R1T. I needed the nice size bed for my multiple side business activities. Still waiting on the truck though... the bad weather has delayed the shipping company. Hopefully should be there next week.
That is one of the least cluttered garages I've ever seen. I mean, the EVs are great, too, but... that garage!Hello all, from right in the center of California.
Gonna leave us hanging without the MME lit up as well?Hello all, from right in the center of California. Looking forward to learning about both my Ford 2024 EVs!!
2024 F150 Lightning Flash
2024 Mustang Mach E Premium
So far, I love them both! Great vehicles, fun to drive, economical, and easier to own than I thought they would be!

Thank you sir! I take pride in simplicity, so I have less crap to deal with! Plus, with no engine to work on, less tools, etc, that I potentially need! That is one of the least cluttered garages I've ever seen. I mean, the EVs are great, too, but... that garage!
Welcome!
