I think you are on target with your suspicions. Not only would it be good business to ensure the max number of vehicle configurations qualify for the credit, you can also be certain if the tax credit amount increases to $12,500 they will raise vehicle prices so they get their cut of the increase.

I'm not understanding the outrage here, even if Ford didn't accurately communicate with their dealer network. You're not going to get your truck any faster if you order on 10/26 instead of 12/24. Maybe this is a way to weed out the people who never really wanted one in the first place, LOL?

Agreed. I think they are awaiting Congress' action on the reconciliation bill before making final price decisions.

Well I'm putting my two-weeks notice in tomorrow to go work for a "luxury" car dealer, so I'll help as much as I can, but my resources may be limited soon.

I was taking the less cynical view that Ford would cut prices to get as many trims as possible below the cutoff.

That said, your intuition about directionality of price changes is probably right

Ford isn't new to the car business. If there's a way to make the tax credits work for them to get more customers in the door they are gonna work it. They no doubt have lobbyists working hard this week...

Seriously though, an hour? You should try calling the VA(Veterans Affairs) sometime....I'll show you what pain really is.

If you feel disrespected now..its better to bail. The next 6-12months are going to be challenging for sure. No one's fault really....just a combination of things. Yes Ford could do better... but this is a business transaction, not a relationship FFS.

I appreciate your information. It is really scummy that ford is no longer allowing you to transfer your reservation. The only thing we can hope for is that ford enforces a no adm on lightning orders. Otherwise a lot of people are going to get screwed

You can still transfer your reservation.

Oh wait, no you can't, everyone (but me) should just cancel in protest right now

From the reservation details page today:
You can change your dealer or cancel your reservation at any time. To change your dealer, please call 1-800-334-4375. If you choose to cancel your reservation, your deposit will be credited back to you in your original form of payment.

Edit: There are reports that some dealers have been advised to avoid accepting more reservations but that does not mean that you still cannot transfer elsewhere.

ONE person was told by ONE dealer they would not accept his reservation. That is NOT what Ford says and NOT what other dealer reps have been saying on this forum.

Ironically, this same person managed to transfer his reservation to another dealer a short time later.

That person kept ignoring those of us who successfully transferred, sometimes multiple times. I wouldn't take anything they say with even a grain of salt.

I went to my dealer on the 26th to pick up a Bronco demo for a 24 hr test drive. Asked my guy about the 26th order date. He said they were never told the 26th but would call when the order banks open
