I’m glad you think so. Love your channel by the way.
To me, Jim will be the guy that came out and promised a truck under $40,000 from the mountain tops (reserved on day one) that went up in price $18,000 by the time I could actually turn that reservation into an order
In the meantime, Tesla’s prices came down.
He’ll never get over that hurdle in my eyes.
your forgetting the cybertruck was announced at $50k and came out at $80k. annoucements about price for either one happened before inflation skyrocketed for a couple years. something that was not predicted (but should have been)

I appreciate you all having his back, but this wasn’t an announced price.
It was THE PRICE. I reserved AT THAT PRICE.
I couldn’t even order for two years.

In fact, within one week of waiting TWO YEARS for my reservation to be given the ability to order, the order bank opened to any and everyone.

What good was a reservation?

For some, they were able to order at the price at which they reserved.

For me, it meant virtually nothing. Other than two years of no answers, horrible communication, and a price nearly 50% higher than I reserved.
Forgive me if I don’t give him a pat on the back.

After patiently waiting for years for the ability to order a pro, within a couple months of receiving the truck, Ford recognized that loyalty by lowering the price of an extended range Lariat to lower than that of my PRO.
Great Job Jim

I have a few sour grapes, but I’m done with it, and it’s simply not worth wasting the electrons on those that don’t understand said sour grapes. I do love the truck, and the loss of money isn’t the point. It’s the way in which the entire sh*t show was handled. The loss of value is nothing when compared to the bath I took owning Ford stock. I bought in Nov 2021, I’m holding the bag at 19.75 per share.

Tom, I'll disagree on something:

"Ford, GM and Tesla all promised a $40,000 electric truck 3-4 years ago, and none of them were able to deliver that."

My '22 F150 LIGHTNING PRO SR was exactly $39,994.

I understand where your statement was meant to be placed, but FACTS are facts.
Ford DID exactly that.

Now, if you want to complain that they didn't build 'enough', well, that's a different aggravation and conversation.
I also received the price promised initially on a Pro. Your comment is spot on. They didn’t produce enough however.

First, his video clearly states that he personally talked to Elon 2-years ago. Secondly, Doug talked to his contacts prior. So both were before the initial announcement that Tesla was releasing their plug to be a standard.

Then the other consideration is, there is also the thought Tesla had planned on opening up NACS, but not the supercharger network at this point. I suspect the end game was to get industry to switch to NACS so Tesla drivers didn’t need to us an adapter moreover allowing non-teslas to charge on a super charger. Personally, it seems to me that there is a large element of randomness in these games by manufacturers. In some ways it reminds me of playing mahjong. I sometimes like to play for an hour or two best mahjong games online and sometimes it seems to me that marketing managers of large companies do the same during working hours. We'll see which technology wins, but for now it looks like a game with an element of chance.
It is interesting in what direction the industry will develop in the future, but I am sure that a mass transition to NACS will not take place regardless of any games from manufacturers.

That ship already sailed. NACS is the choice.
