Hopefully this will mean more sales and keep progress towards the next gen truck.
I'm certainly glad I bought my Flash when I did, but for me some nice ways to cut costs is to have bluecruise, alexa, and all the rear sensors (keep the camera) an option, this way you can remove all the hardware required for it. I suppose they are hoping to get some monthly revenues though....

I work for Ford. Everything lately at work revolves around cost cutting. The T3 Lightning has been delayed again. The 100% redesigned ICE F-150 is being pushed back another model year. Management is fixated on how their bonuses are being affected. Maintenance on machinery is being pushed out and delayed or skipped entirely. Headcount is constantly being examined. Overtime has been cut.

My only guess is cost cutting. Not saying that is it, but that is what I see.
Also, everyone is buying Flashes over the Lariats. Ford makes more margin on the Lariats. so you have to differentiate more. These changes, I would think, would balance the sales a little more between the two models.

Some quick math puts the range for the Flash and Pro ER at 298mi (assuming same EPA estimates for efficiency as the 131kw battery). If they did that last year, there'd be no complaints (added a new model at 298mi). Since they are taking it away though...negative connotation.

All that being said, I'm very happy with my 23 XLT ER (and the deal I got), and feeling luckier by the day.

Can somebody help me to understand why the OPTIONAL (WTF?) spare wheel and tire is 18" for all models? That would seem "unexpected" on the Flash and Lariat (20" wheel and tire) and the Platinum (22" wheel and tire).

And BTW, who would buy a pickup truck w/o a spare wheel and tire?

I get that they are trying to make a profit on BEV’s! Granted, the GM BEV trucks have much longer range, but they also cost substantially more! I think Ford is trying to find the sweet spot between price, options, range and profit.
I agree with the above post about taking things away just has a bad look!!!

There are a lot of posts on this forum that the ER battery was not worth the extra cost compared to the SR battery(for some people)!

The wireless charging pad basically keeps my phone from dying when using CarPlay on a long trip, but it is not that great to begin with so no big loss!

The 18" spare has roughly the same outside diameter as the 20" wheels and tire. Ford calls it a dissimilar spare. Same as the ICE trucks.

Again, a cost savings.

They’d sell a lot more lariats if they had more available that qualified for the $7500 credit. If I could have gotten one with max tow and pro power with the credit I’d be driving a lariat today. Instead I went for the Flash.

Cutting back features (especially battery size!) when the competition has better range is baffling.

So glad I got my 24 when I did. This doesn’t make me feel super confident that my next EV will be Ford, though…

You actually could get a 2024 Lariat with Max Tow and Pro Power under $80K before destination charges as long as it didn't have any other options. That being said, there were hardly any on West coast optioned like that when I was shopping in September.

Dark elements package looks like they dropped the satin wrap from last years platinum black edition that they never did and will keep everything else. I Like how they marketed agate black metallic as an actual part of the package like it’s a different black color.

Just my local eye test but seems like Ford is really moving inventory in my area. See several trucks around and dealers have lower inventory

122kwh should be the standard pack size with 150+ as the extended option. This is weak Ford!

At least they added Space White as a color option. I might have waited and ordered a 2025 has I known that, but with Avalanche being dropped there really wasn't any other color I was interested in.

How are Space White, Oxford White, and Star White all different from each other?
