The cameras they have watching eyes to confirm drive alertness doesn’t understand bifocals. Unless I keep my head up it starts doing the “Watch the road’,warning. I can’t watch the road thru the bottom of my glasses.

I also wear bifocals and have no issues with this. Maybe try adjusting your seat up if you are of shorter stature, or lower if you're a tall person.

I also noticed that it got a lot better after that blue Cruise update they pushed out.

I came searching for related threads after a train-wreck of an experience this morning. I'm surprised so many folks are saying bifocals don't give them any issues, since there are multiple comments in other threads about normal glasses and sunglasses.

I'm in my second month of ownership, and largely have had good experiences with BC. I put almost 4,000 miles on the truck in that time, including about a thirty hour drive to and from Montréal, with almost all highway driving being hands-free. Mostly, when it yells at me to watch the road, it's because I'm not watching the road.

This morning, I took my wife to the airport and didn't put in my contacts. Holy crap, it was awful. It must have prompted me 30 times to watch the road, while I was watching the road, in about an hour and a half of driving. Worse, at one point it started beeping and actively tapping the breaks to get me to "wake up", all while watching the road and holding the wheel. The only fix was to toggle cruise off and back on.

BC and lane-keeping work perfectly fine without glasses, so I know it's not the camera. My glasses are not tinted or photochromatic or anything. They're probably polarized because why wouldn't they be.

It was early morning, but it occurred consistently from before sunrise to after sunrise, so I don't think it's some kind of edge case with reflections. It's just really that bad.

Interesting topic. Couple weeks ago going 1 way bc worked pretty good. On the return home.into the sun, it barely worked. I wear progressive glasses that darken in the sun.

I have had that problem intermittently. I wear progressive lenses. Just moving my hand on the wheel eliminates it. It's just a minor nuisance

I just wear standard polarized sunglasses. No contacts. Have never had a problem as long as the sun isn't hitting the sensor directly. Maybe some dirt/debris on the sensor? If it's clean and still giving you fits, might be worth having the dealer check it out (especially if still under warranty).

I was going crazy until someone pointed out the driver alertness camera on the right of the steering wheel. If,you are tall and you put your hands in the 10 & 2 positions you will block the camera’s,view of you eyes. I moved,my right hand down below the spoke and didn’t,have the problem anymore. when I go the dealer next I will see if there is an adjustment for camera.

Again — it's definitely not the position or angle of the camera, or my hand. It works nearly 100% of the time when I don't have glasses on, and fails routinely when I do. There is a clear path to the camera. My guess is it's simply not designed or calibrated to track eyes through polarized lenses, which is an enormous oversight.

It's also just kind of silly that you have to be babysat when LKA or BC is on, but not when it isn't; but that ship has sailed industry-wide, I guess.
