Dan, I’m glad that worked for you! I thought mine was working fine, but when I actually connected to trailer and squeezed the slider, I get a trailer disconnected error. I tried it with two different trailers. Have you tested yours with a trailer yet?
The part number and a pic of the box is shown above.

I also noticed that the video showing what ForScan settings to tweak to enable to brake controller has been removed.

Things that make you go "Hmmmm...."

So both installed just the switch and it isn't working? But ML3Z19H332AB kit has both a switch and a brake controller module right? One option might be to order this kit and then trying to install both the switch and controller module. I bet it would work then. Might have to reconfigure that Forescan setting once you install the new parts.

I guess the issue is that the kit is on backorder so you want something now.

If you are pressed for time you could always try something like the Curt Echo (just uses bluetooth via your phone to adjust your brake controller).
The kit has been backordered since LAST YEAR. I need to get brake controller functionality and was tired of waiting. The dash switch was $60, and I tweaked the ForScan settings shown in the video which has since been taken down, causing me to question its pedigree.

The point of this is to use the setup which is already in the truck (TCM under-dash module) and the OE switch. This is not supposed to be hard, but here we are.

Update - Found a video on YouTube that HADN'T been removed... :cautious:

It mentioned IPC register 720-04-01 changing to xx4x xxxx xx, which I flashed last night along with enabling matrix LED headlights, which enabled successfully.

BUT - According to LivingItUp's ForScan spreadsheet, that's not a valid value for that register:

TPMS Placard Pressure Display (TPMSPPD) • FuelG_Delta (FGD)
720-04-01xx*xxxxxxx--0 =TPMSPPD disabled • FGD normal8 =TPMSPPD enabled • FGD normal
2 =TPMSPPD disabled • FGD minimal/UHAULA =TPMSPPD enabled • FGD minimal/UHAUL

I flashed it just to see. Unfortunately, I hooked up the trailer today on the way home from work, and got the same "Trailer Not Connected" error. What I found interesting was that after I received that message, I no longer saw the bias setting nor did I see the warning message upon squeezing the switch.

Has anyone tried the curt Echo trailer brake controller on their lightning? thinking of grabbing one on FB marketplace while I wait for the Ford one to arrive.

Luke - Go back to the beginning of this Odessey, and you'll see that's exactly what I was attempting to do: A $23 Curt controller using the harness that CAME WITH the truck. Except, the harness didn't exist under the dash! There was no apparent way to connect an aftermarket brake controller at all, except maybe splicing the harness to which the OE biasing switch connects, but that still uses the built-in TCM and must be programmed...

I think the Curt Echo is a bit different than a regular Curt brake controller in that is it is phone/bluetooth based. It shouldn't require anything other than plugging inline to your 7-pin connector right?

Correct, it is the blue tooth version- Wasn’t sure if anyone had confirmed it will work - just in case the 7 pin isn’t live until the Forscan or Ford turns the option?

I don't remember where, but I saw that someone said there's no power to that socket until it's programmed

This video looks promising. In the comments it references a specific version of forscan to enable the existing module.

I was able to test the Curt Echo today and it worked in my lightning. A decent solution for a few times a year I need to trailer
