I just hope I am in Wave 2 or else it will be in another round of disappointment. I am number 10 in line at my dealer.

My dealer rep emailed me this morning asking if I'd received the email yet. When I asked if he could see that I was supposed to be, he replied he has to wait for another person in his office to confirm.

I know there's been reference to a document from Ford that details how dealerships should be able to check- anyone have a handy link to that? I'll keep looking too

I believe you are referring to this…

For those wanting to order and think they are in wave 2 my advice is don’t wait for the email. I never received it and I ordered wave 1.

I believe it opened at around 5 Eastern and wasn’t shown that I could order in the actual Lightning reservation page. I had to back up one page to the main “Reservations and Orders” page. Next to the “View” button was a new on that said “Configure and Order” if memory serves.
Have the page open and refresh it every 10 minutes if you want to get in quick and secure that Pro!

I'm willing to wait also... it's mostly my fault as I didn't reserve until three days after opening and I am therefore #156 out of 489 at my friendly local dealership.

I did have my reservation confirmed for a Silverado EV on Jan 5 at 12:03 (orders opened up at 12:00) so I should be very close to the front of the line for one of those if I can't get a Lightning by then. I want an electric pickup, dammit. And not a Rivian, it has too much Ridgeline in it for my taste.
Forget the rivian. Chats a chick truck. Haha

Certainly don't wait... I've been checking my Ford.com reservation every day for the past 2-weeks...

But, they should have refined the process this time. The emails are supposed to go out the day before you can order (but I don't believe that was every "official" from ford).

I have a medical procedure tomorrow that involves anesthesia. If I get an invite, I’ll likely be in some hazy, post-recovery stupor. I wonder if what I order will be anything near what I really want? :D :D

I guess I shouldn't be getting my hopes up with my order number 1083XXXX and only 15,000 units for MY22?

I ordered same day but a few hours after announcement

Ah yes, he'll have to check with his 'Manager"

We’re in the same boat. Not far off actually. If not a 22 we’ll get a early 23, most likely we’ll get a truck before the end of this year.

It all comes down to when they switch over. I think we are all hoping that the Lightning follows the usual F150 schedule and the model year transition is sometime around October, but they could keep 2022 model year in production through December and have a slower ramp than we are thinking. Or they could keep 2022 production going through December and be making MORE 2022s than we expect.

At the end of the day we just don't know enough to predict. In my head I keep going from having a low chance for a late 2022 (dealer says I am #29 in line and they are hoping for 30 trucks) to I am waiting until 2024 model year with delivery in early 2025 (I didn't reserve until 6/3). I just really don't know.

You can't go by the reservation ID, but timestamp. Mine was within several hours of the 9:30PM presentation (2021-05-20 04:08:11.654Z to be exact, or 12:08 EST). This isn't an email based time, this is the time in Ford's system.
