MY2023 Heated wheel, seats & mirrors deleted?

Tim Bartz just said in the live stream tonight as of right now it's only affecting MY22 scheduled orders as of now but may roll to MY23.

That doesn't reflect the communication sent to the dealers that I quoted. It states 2023 models.

Chevy is not installing heated seats on most of the 2022.5 1500’s I’ve taken delivery of since spring. They are supposed to retrofit the missing parts later. Looks like Ford is just dropping the features with no intention of retrofit…Lame. I’d be pissed if I ordered a $80K lariat and Ford deleted the heated steering wheel.

Both options suck... it should be subscription model in reverse. Dealers owes buyer $??/month until said "chip" feature is installed and working.

As a consumer, I tend to like the Chevy model more of getting it right eventually... but that is ripe for disappointment down the road. What is acceptable... 1 month.... 6 months... 3 years... every consumer will have their own opinion. From a business standpoint, its way cleaner to do what Ford is doing. "You're S.O.L, sign here"

How can it be that given the thousands of parts that go into a truck that just the heating elements are impossible to get? Seriously, the heaters are like a resistive wire and some relays. Any idea why those parts are the hard ones to get?

Yes it does. Especially when you're dealing with reduced range and trying to eek your last bit of milage out of the battery to make a charger. The first thing you do is cut the cabin heat. Heated seats and wheel use near zero power in comparison to the climate control.

In an ice vehicle heat is free. The heated wheel is part of keeping electric consumption down on an EV. Not to say that the EV lineup should be protected, but it matters more when heat = range. Living in the northeast, I would not want to own an EV without heated seats and steering wheel. The credit should be equal to the retrofit cost (not fair to manufacturer, but maybe this encourages them to find the parts and allows those who don't really want the feature to opt out making more parts available for those who want it).

Got an ominous email late last night that "Your F-150 Lightning order has been updated." Guess this was probably that change. Still shows " Manual-Folding, Power Glass with Heat,Turn Signal and Black Skull Caps Sideview Mirrors" in the config summary, though.

Funny how they try to push people to higher trims but gimp the functionality anyways.

If they're pulling the heated steering wheel with no guarantee to retrofit later, then I might be canceling my order. Is it a small feature? Yes. But I'm not buying any vehicle without it these days. It saves my old and damaged hands a lot of pain on cold mornings. ...Also getting real tired of the "oh, the supply chain.." BS. ...I ordered this truck configured exactly the way I wanted it back in early June. Never got scheduled, was pushed to '23. Had to pick a new color, had to lose OBS... Still not scheduled. Dealer tells me that an identically configured truck in every way that was a new '23 order got scheduled almost immediately, so they were going to escalate with Ford on my behalf. Nothing yet after more than a week. I woke up to the email saying my Lightning order had been updated and thought, "ah, here we go..." Pulled it up and nothing visible has changed, nothing scheduled. Come here and find this new BS... I think I'm about done...

But if I get scheduled and get a truck by the end of the year, heated wheel or not, I'll probably still buy it and flip it because people are still paying stupid money for them. But whatever... Only doing that because Ford jacked up the price as they take away features and I can still buy for the '22 pricing. ...which is also probably why the new order got scheduled and mine did not.
