AIA, if this has already been covered in another thread, but when I hit the Start Charge button in FordPass v5.9 for iOS, if I try to change the one-time target charge from anything other than 100%, charging stops. Does anyone at Ford test their software before it's released, @Ford Motor Company? Not to mention, I still cannot get anything other than 100% Max Charge Rate (80 amps) out of my FCSP these days.

After adjusting the target charge with the rubric" One-Time Charge - Adjust Target Charge at any time," here's what I see:

So, you think I'd be all set. Hit START and I'm gonna charge to 70%... WRONG!!! Here's what happens instead (and charging stops if I try to change it from 100%):

As soon as I hit START, I'm charging to 100%, despite the first screen capture advertising a 70% target charge.

IIRC, it used to be that the one-time target charge just affected the one-time main screen display when charging. But now, when I change the one-time target charge slider on the Energy tab in FordPass, the target charge is also changed in the CHARGE section of the Energy Table under the Target Charge label. That used to be the usual target charge level and, IIRC, was NOT changed during a one-time charge session. If Ford programmers have decided also to display a one-time target charge in this section, they should label it as such when it's in effect and display off to the side the normal target charge set for that location. The idea of a one-time target charge was supposed to be that it didn't knock you off your usual target charge for a location.

The effect of changing the one-time target charge to 80% and how it changes the display of what should be your normal target charge (50% for me) is shown in the following two screen captures:

I've seen the same kind of behavior. Yesterday I tried starting the charge and then adjusting the slider. As soon as I move the slider, charging stopped and I couldn't get it started again. After fighting with it for a little while I just walked away.

The truck charged exactly as expected overnight, hitting my charge target of 85%. 😐

I think at this point we can all agree the answer to your (rhetoricaal?) question is "NO" or at least "not enough."

I wish venting here and to customer service and dealships, etc., actually resulted in some improvement in the software situation...alas.

In the meantime, we just have to workaround the DumBass program errors and omissions, and pray they don't result in any fatalities or serious injuries while driving.

Like the Boeing 737MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019 caused by the MCAS software, @Ford Motor Company

Yes, I think the only sure way to lower the charge current is to turn down the circuit board dial inside the FCSP.

If only it were more easily accessible.

If your FCSP is inside sheltered from the weather, it might be possible to provide an access hole in the front black cover (under the silver Ford Branded cover) above the dial, and some kind of dial setting indication outside the hole so when it gets turned one knows what it is being set to from the outside. Probably not a good idea to turn the circuit board dial while the FCSP is powered on and/or charging just in case.

It seems it may be a detent (rotary) switch, and it is located pretty remotely from the 240V wiring on the circuit board - even so I would use a non-conducting type screw-driver like are used for adjusting TVs (in the old days) for example when making the adjustments, sure you opened the breaker but what if you forgot to - better safe than sorry folks.

I have considered that, except I have an SR so the max it can draw is 48A anyway - I did have another forum member try my FCSP at 80A and it worked fine.

It was working perfectly in Android but they removed it a while back and now we only get a stop or start (aka charge to 100). The FCSP charging rate is definitely finicky in the app. I've had a reasonable amount of success changing it and leaving the breaker off for a while. Still seems to revert to 48 amps every now and then after I moved it back to 80 a few months ago.
