Hello all!

Has anyone else ran into this issue?
I’m on a short road trip today. When we stopped to get a snack I noticed a chip in the paint on the bumper. Almost looked like it had bubbled up. I picked up this truck on 11/26/24 so I’ve had it less than a month. It’s been sitting on the lot for a while. It has a manufacturing date of 2/24. Haven’t been to a carwash yet(been on and off rain since I got it) after checking I noticed even more. I haven’t heard any rock hits nothing that I recall. Definitely don’t drive on gravel.

Looks like normal rock chips to me. It doesn’t take much in these trucks with painted bumpers. The front edge of the hood is also a target for chips. The only way to protect it is by adding PPF on the bumper. The fix is some touch up paint. I’m thinking touch up paint will be my solution since my truck is leased.

I haven’t decided no affiliation with this company, but here is an example of a precut DIY PPF kit.

That is not a normal rock chip. The dealer will have to submit pictures for approval, but that bumper, IMHO, should be repainted under warranty.

The paint is extremely thin it seems to me. Personally. I’ve had rock chips before and it’s always just been a true chip not just the paint peeling off.
