Two Way radio systems
My Lightning up at a local 2-way radio site. The site lost utility power a few days ago and our site generator was not working. We temporarily had two 2 KW Honda generators keeping the site battery charged. But those needed to be fueled regularly. This was a trip up to fuel the temporary generators. However a luck would have it, the utility power restored about an hour after I arrived, so I removed the two Honda generators are the extension cords I had used.

What gets better was that there are eight battery chargers and each generator could power one. However when I was at the site each trip, I could power three chargers from the inverters in the truck in order to get an extra 100 AH or so into the battery. Although the photo shows a nice day, the first two days, it had been raining and the road was really muddy.

Got to admit that it felt weird driving an electric truck into a gas station to buy gas for the generators. :)

For the technically curious, the site battery is 4,400 AH at 12 volts, or 52.8 KWH. That is good for about a day and a half.

More truck stuff. Bought an electric ride on mower (can't use it yet because of the rain!). It almost fits in the bed without the tailgate down. Bit nervous driving it up the ramps into the bed as the angle was quite steep.

I've got an electric push mower and brush cutter/strimmer on order as well. With that I should be able to completely divest from using fossil fuels directly.

My first 'Lightning doing truck stuff' post...Had the pleasure of using the truck's Pro Power Onboard to power some sawing up of old decking boards before hauling them to the local dump...

I just love the convenience of hooking up power tools to the back of the truck and not having to drag out a long extension cord. And the F-150's bed sure beats mauling the back of my SUV, which is what I had to do previously for such a job. Go Lightning!

First spring. 30x 3 cu ft bags. Would have been 3 trips to her nursery in the Mach E, then vacuuming it out.

Would have included a pic towing the log splitter for service but I forgot… that I was driving past the shop and didn’t hook it up. Doh. I guess another reason to do truck stuff another time.

Love my cub cadet electric lawn tractor. Headed into 3rd summer with it and don’t miss the gas, fumes or noise. Went w a tractor to be able to use as a tug for a yard trailer and log splitter. Enjoy your greenworks; the brand is on my list for a trimmer replacement, and other cordless yard tools to replace the corded ones.

I learned the hard way - don't saw stuff on the tailgate because all the sawdust goes into the bed and all over the truck.
But it seemed convenient at the time since no extension cord or sawhorses were needed.

And at least make sure of where the blade is. I dug a nice slot in the tailgate of my Dodge a few years ago. Good carbide blade did not even slow down when it hit steel (I was doing a plunge cut into plywood).
And no, the only "fix" I did to the 4 inch long slot was file the edges a little so there were no ragged edges I might slice a hand on later.
