The VA ratings they used for appliances is way too big. A typical dryer would be 5000VA, a disposal and dishwasher 1200 each. The refrigerator isn’t normally specified separately. It looks like they simply took the breaker sizes and used that as the load. What a mess.
Yeah, I wish I could speak with the engineer directly. I want to understand his reasoning.

Sorry man. You need a panel upgrade. Don't go with sunrun. They are grossly overpriced

Agreed. For the straight install, $1600 is way too much. It’s roughly $250 worth of material and should be a 2-3 hours of work only.

That's not right either. Panel upgrades usually cost 2500 to 3500. If you need to trench to upsize the feeder then add another few thousand dollars if you have to demo any hardscape.

Should clarify. I meant for the install without the panel upgrade they will charge $1600. If I had some complex install or the panel was really far from where I would charge, might be worth it. Panel upgrade would be insane as I would need them to trench and replace the service line/conduit.

The math checks out if you shut off the house breaker while you charge the truck.
This is the load calc they did

Does this panel not provide HVAC? Because it looks like that calculated 108.83 amp load excludes HVAC.

Right? Who needs the light on at night? Lol

I have central heating only and a portable AC unit.

Hard to do actual calculation, as one pictured above says you have multiple of some appliances but doesn’t say how many. Even saying that, the values look suspicious Dryer should be 5000 unless gas?
