I’m wondering if anyone has opinions on tires. I’ll need to replace my original Hankooks soon, as I’ve got 65,000 km on them. These are the tires I’m considering. Keep in mind, I don’t go off-roading; the vehicle is only used on paved or dirt roads, and I prefer a smooth and quiet ride. My first choice is the Michelin Defender LTX, but apparently, they’re out of stock in Canada with no ETA. The fourth option is what the truck originally came with. I want a tire with the same or a higher load and speed rating.
•Options:
1.Michelin Defender LTX
2.Toyo Open Country A/T III EV
3.Bridgestone Ultra Alenza
4.Hankook Dynapro A/T2

I just checked KalTire here on the West Coast and they say contact us but
they seem to have them or can get them. You're in Ontario but sounds like they might be available.

Everything I hear is that LTX are great tires if a bit expensive.

Personally, I'll never buy Michelin again.

The general grabber hts that came with my 23 Lariat were great on road, nice and smooth.

If you're concerned about weight rating, you can always go with LT tires.

There are tons of options available.

I did a ton of research on Consumer Reports and Tire Rack and chose Cooper Discoverer Road-Trail. 500 miles and I’m impressed. Even though they are more aggressive than the OEM, they are noiseless. Wet and dry traction are very good. I’m hoping it snows again soon so I can see how they perform in it.

I love Cooper tires. How are the Discoverer Road-Trail with range? I would be very interested in these over the OE Generals if they can come close on efficiency.

I’ve not made a road trip on them yet, but I’ve not noticed any change in range around town. In fact, I have noticed that turning the wheel is easier with the Coopers, making me think they offer less resistance than the OEM. No buyer’s remorse.

I plan to replace some time this Spring. If you take a road trip soon, let us know what you think.

I wanted the Toyo but availability was scarce and I eventually balked due to the price. Ended up going with Bridgestone Dueler Ascent A/T. Gave a more aggressive look without being over the top and I'm getting similar efficiency so far ( +/- 0.1 mpk from stock, almost 3000 miles on them ). Ride is just as quiet and smooth as my stock Grabbers. I've been in the rain once (I'm in a desert it only rains for 2 months in the summer) but it held up well. At under $300, I'm very happy.

I like the regular Toyo at3 so selfishly I want you to get the EV and get your feedback.

Thanks for sharing. The Michelins look like a fantastic highway tire. Since I tow a lot, this may be the best option compared to a good AT tire.

im looking at getting these as well.

are you still happy with them? I’m mostly conferenced about maintaining range. I get about 2.2-2.3m/Kw now on my Michelin primacy xc OEMs
