Really, this is terrible. What is FORD offering these 1166 owners (US + Canada) in exchange for telling them to only use 80% of their product for several months waiting while Ford to produce a resolution? After that how long will it be before these 1166 owners will again have a fully functional vehicle?

I propose these 1166 owners given an offer of a instant exchange with a new truck. FORD can then remove/replace the problem cells/packs and sell these used trucks as rebuilds.
Yeah, I think some kind of compensation is in order. With 80% charge in cold winter, our range is only 80-90 miles! It’s forcing us to use our ICE way more. Luckily gas if pretty reasonable right now. Plus I don’t like leaving my new truck outside all night for fear it may catch fire. All this for an undetermined amount of time.

I have faith Ford will make this right. This is their flagship product - to me, SK Battery must eat the cost if they want to remain a supplier down the road.

Ford may have to be aggressive, this is to no fault of theirs.

Other manufacturers like Toyota will comp owners rental or fuel cost to use their other car when the hydrogen pumps are out of order in their area. Better not turn this into a Chevy Bolt or Jaguar i-pace mess.

I am a winner of this recall. More to the stats

05/22/2022 blend date
Curious why you think this is a win? Everything released so far just points to defective modules being replaced, not the entire pack. After my truck is repaired it will have modules that are three to four years apart in age. This is a bad idea with solar batteries and surely a bad idea with EV batteries. I'm guessing the trucks subject to this recall will need special software to make the old and new modules play nice together. Essentially limiting the capacity of the new modules to match the capacity of the older/degraded modules.

I will definitely be expecting compensation if not a buyback. As it is now we cannot take our truck to our other home in Montana. A couple stretches require DCFC to 90%.

Probably not their flagship product for much longer. And dealer's certainly don't treat it as a flagship product. I doubt there will be a '26 Lightning.

I find I have to put the word "sarcasm" after a comment in parens or else readers don't get it, no matter how obvious I think that the sarcasm is inherently.

I said the same thing in my original posts when I started the thread. Not sure why sarcasm is so under appreciated.

They say more than 70 percent of communication is tone/inflection and body language face-to-face interaction...so that's why sarcasm is sometimes missed in texts...and it's no wonder so much BS gets passed off as true in on-line blogs.

My mom used to say sarcasm was the lowest form of humor, but she was left-handed and often got things completely assbackwards, and often it was after I gave her a sarcastic answer (filled with truth) in response to one of her parental talks, lol.

It‘s the difference between being an “Optimist” or a “Pessimist”

An Optimist believes we live in the best of all worlds.

The Pessimist fears he is correct.

I’m a left hander living in a right hand world

Physiology teaches us the the hemispheres of the brain control the opposite side of our bodies so left handers are to only ones operating in their right minds!!!

I feel for you. No sarcasm.
One of my step-daughters is a lefty too.

Ever read the book "Drawing on the Right Side of The Brain? Very interesting.

I have mixed dominance my parents were told when I was tested young, not exactly ambidextrous, but close. Helps with playing the drums I think.

One summer when I was a musician and working construction to pay the bills, one of the women on one of the crews that were installing doors, married to one of the carpenters, remarked at the end of the day as we were turning in our tools at the job site:

"I learned to screw with my left hand today!"

Response: Crickets...followed by uproarious laughter among the employees.

Ever notice how these threads tend toward misalignment from the original subject matter?
Not a bad thing usually.
