I have a Lightning XLT with the small dashboard screen. I've seen various 3rd party screens available for the F150 but all of them are only compatible up to 2021 models. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a solution to upgrade to a larger screen including the possibility of purchasing the OEM large screen from Ford and swapping them out.

FYI - I came from a Mach E Mustang (one of the higher trims) with the vertical 15-inch screen. My XLT Option 312A has the 12-inch screen as well as all the hardware buttons below it.

I much prefer the XLT's 12-inch screen, for its unobtrusive shape design as well as its superiority in not allowing a chance of a confused / emotional / drunk passenger to grab the top edge of the 15-inch screen to leverage themselves up and out of the seat.

Somewhere back in my slightly shady past I might have fit the description of such a passenger... therefore with the Mach E I always worried about that and watched people's hands and where they were about to grab on to. IMHO the 15-inch screen's housing design is almost like an afterthought add-on for the dash.

I also prefer having the hardware buttons to adjust things rather than a screen-based control system.

I also came from a Mach E GTPE. I agree with all your points- the physical buttons, the clunky design and seeming fragility of the larger screen. Through my Android, I'm able to watch VLC and YouTube on my vehicle screen while and not while driving, and for road trips, the larger higher resolution screen would be so much better so I'm just wondering if I have any options. I haven't found anything online that's compatible with our truck yet.

I have never once had the desire to grab the top of the screen to get into or out of my truck. Maybe that’s a thing in the MachE since it’s such a smaller vehicle.

When the temptation happens it's often far stronger on the passenger side. We drivers have the steering wheel to grab, in every car.

Yes, the Mach E cabin is lower and smaller so it would perhaps be more conducive.

Nonetheless, I frankly do not like to mounting design of the 15-inch screen... one horizontal attachment point which is located fairly low behind that large screen. Seems like an afterthought to me.

Yes I would just assume the passenger would grab the huge grab handle near their face.
Yes, I do know some people don’t like the big tablet screen but I personally think it’s super cool. It’s a big conversation starter whenever someone rides the truck for the first time.
The one negative is that if the computer freezes you are kind of screwed and can’t access big features in the truck.
I’ve had it only happen a couple times in the near two years.
