So yesterday I got my new Ford Charge station 80 amp installed. I went to set up on the app and it’s not showing it as connected to the application. I went through the app and had it connected to my home wifi and it showed the connection as successful but then it has you launch the ford pass app which when hit that button it just crashes. So I rebooted both apps and not it’s not showing up at all. I hit the reset button on the charger and rebooted it but still not showing up. Not sure how to get this connected to my ford pass app or just restart the process. Any ideas? Thanks

Yes setting up the FCSP is bug-filled.
I had the same problem - get the FCSP on the wifi, FordPass also on wifi, FordPass can see the FCSP id etc, but in the last step to add the FCSP to FordPass, error message "ChargePoint Not Found"

However, the last time I tried adding it to FordPass I got a different error "Incorrect Station ID or Access code" even though the ID and PW are correct...

It charges my 2023 Lightning Pro however so I am not going to waste any more time on trying to get it to integrate with FordPass.

Many people have had issues with the FCSP, btw, so we are not alone.

To err is human, to really screw up, you need a computer, as they say.

Repeat your configuration of the FCSP to your wifi network.

Once that's done disconnect your phone from from the wifi network, turn bluetooth back on (you should have turned it off during setup).

Wait a few hours for the FCSP to connect to the Ford data center.

Start your regular Fordpass app, go to Energy, scroll to the bottom, select charge station, add charge station, follow prompts.

I had to install a wifi range extender, next to the charger, just it has enough signal to connect. It is a TPLink AC1200. It's on the black power strip in the picture. The FCSP is maybe 12 feet from my garage AP, but still the signal wasn't strong enough. Also, I connected my garage AP to a 900Mhz point-to-point wireless bridge from Loocam back to my house, to help make the garage wireless stronger, and have less drop outs. I think I had to reset the FCSP a dozen times until I had everything initialize and connect correctly.

Hope that works for you without much trouble, in theory it should, but...it didn't for my FCSP/wifi/tablet situation.

But since I can control the charging (mostly) with the Lightning - it charges the Lightning without any problems - and controlling the charging with the FP App seems to be problematic for some people (based on the many posts on several threads, adjusting the current for example is hit and miss for some, mostly miss), I am not going to waste any more time fiddling with it.

The connectivity is horrible. My FCSP would not see my WiFi, I went through the setup dozens of times while on the phone with Ford Charging support. Eventually they sent me a new FCSP, still had to go through the setup several times but it connected.

Instructions are wrong, not specifically telling you to change the network on your phone to look at the FCSP at one point. And they don’t say that once it actually FINDS your network that the FCSP network stops broadcasting so it seems like now it’s not working.

They also had me change my router so that it broadcasts 5g and 2.something separately. Oh and like Thx1138 my router is 12’ from my charger. Ugh

At that point you can only see the FCSP using the setup app, but don't go through setup again, just use the "Manage Settings" button to locate it and then connect to it. (your phone does need to be actively connected to the same network to see it though).

Not using a tablet, otherwise network connection and app affiliation work seamlessly.

Amperage adjustment is unreliable for other reasons (FORD DATA CENTER)

My smart phone encounters the same issues.

The app works fine on both device, except I can't add the FCSP to FordPass - always an error.

The FCSP connects to my wifi. But no updates to the FCSP have been downloaded or installed - seems my FCSP software ver. is an old ver.

Despite that, FordPass does tell me when the FCSP starts charging, and ends charging, and has a charge history, etc., so I don't think I need anything else from it, since the controlling current etc. seems buggy (for whatever reason - the Ford Servers I guess).

I suppose it could be a problem with the FCSP I have - some posters said they replaced theirs under warranty and then the setup worked without issue. Maybe if I had the updated software on it?

I can live with it the way it is.

Might try getting the help desk to order a new FCSP if it won't update the software.

The status & data you're getting is coming from your trucks telematics, it reports certain conditions, that data is not coming from the FCSP, but you're missing the finer details that FCSP does report independently to another database, this is either an accounts issue for your Ford profile or the lack of communications to the WWW from your FCSP.
