Spare tire for 23 Platinum.

What size spare came on the 23 Platinum with 22" wheels. Just found out I don't have one . Used from Dealer. Not cool.

According to this thread it is an 18" wheel on all Lightning trims (tire size not specified).

Thanks. Crazy it doesn't have one at all. Dealer said it was traded in that way. Too far to drive to argue!

I will look when I get home. The spare that came with my truck (Lariat) is in the garage as I replaced it with a full sized spare with matching wheel.

I just got a 275/17 from a buddy's older F 150 ice. I think this would work in a pinch ! Seems strange to me since the L has independent axles that they wouldn't supply a spare of the same size.

The spare tire on our Lightnings is the strangest thing I’ve seen…a full-size truck tire that’s marked for temporary use only. It has much less tread and a strange tapered tread design, but it’s a far cry from the donut found in the truck of most cars and CUVs. I’d love to know how much cheaper this is than a regular tire in that size.

Very strange. All the fleet F 150 trucks we have at work, all 2020- 22 came with same size spare as on the Steele wheels . 17 inches.?

A 17" wheel won't fit over the rotors with the wrong offset. Better to check it before you rely on it.

Wheel size doesn't matter as long as the overall tire diameter is close.

All, I have both a 2017 XLT and the lightning. The 2017 has 17" steel wheels. they do not fit over my ligtning's front brake calipers. You might want to try that 17" spare before you need it. Might fit over the rear caliper, I didn't try, and you could do a rear to front swap of one of the standard wheel tire assemblies and put the 17" spare on the rear if you got a front flat. Not my idea of fun on a roadside.
