Same here! I’ve been constantly tweeting at Ford to let me come pick mine up and road trip it home! HahaLet me completely purchase it online and I’ll fly up there and drive it home and take out the need for transportation or shipping…. I can fly first class and save money on the destination fee lol
Right with you. I even submitted it as a suggestion to Ford Ideas, but it was rejected. Heck, I don't even mind paying the destination fee and letting Ford pocket it if they let me pick up at the factory - would be a heck of a memory.Same here! For those curious, "Batch and Hold" system means just extra quality checks as Pioneer74's comment notes, Ford does this with most (all?) new builds.I doubt the first units go into storage waiting for chips, but the first units will be produced under the "Batch and Hold" system. Units will be built and held until a second and/or third quality check is performed. They also won't be shipped until "OKTB" or "OK To Buy" is produced. That could take weeks.
I predict the people with the earliest build dates will be annoyed with the delay in the deliveries of their trucks.
I believe the great Johnny Cash wrote a little something about this... " And negatory on the cost of this mow-chine there Red Ryder. You might say I went right up to the factory and picked it up, it's cheaper that way"Let me completely purchase it online and I’ll fly up there and drive it home and take out the need for transportation or shipping…. That's what I did when I bought my Tesla. The car was used and located in Chicago. It was $1k to ship it to my door, but instead I opted to fly out for $200 and split the return trip into two days. I spent another $120 or so on a hotel on the drive back (with a destination charger!) It was a great way to get to know the car and it is still one of my favorite road trips, despite a big chunk of it just being a straight shot across the middle of Indiana.Right with you. I even submitted it as a suggestion to Ford Ideas, but it was rejected. We are planning a family weekend to Dearborn in august to visit the Ford museum - would be a perfect time! (hint hint Ford!)
If they won't let me drive mine home from work, they certainly won't let you come and pick it up. And it definitely wouldn't happen for free.Let me completely purchase it online and I’ll fly up there and drive it home and take out the need for transportation or shipping….
