Stickers Below Usual MSRP: What's Up?

I've noticed a few XLTs whose base sticker price is around $57500 instead of the official $62995. The standard equipment lists on the stickers are identical to the regular ones, and they all list "08 07 24" as the build date (I think). Does anybody know what's up with the differently sticker-priced trucks? Not sure if it's a good idea to drive a few hours in the hope of getting a better deal on that basis.

$57,495 was the original price when announced last October. In February they raised it to 64,995. Then in April they lowered it to 62,995.

@climateguy also reported a Flash truck with original October sticker online. Supposed to be changed upon arrival.

they all list "08 07 24" as the build date (I think).
The 08/07/24 date is not the actual production date for the stickers you're reviewing, it's now the date a batch resequencing was completed on a bunch of window stickers.

I can tell that this sticker was resequenced because the blend date has been removed and code box has moved to the left of center line, also lists "mail" in the header and they stripped off a couple of the sequencing numbers, also the unit/batch value [801/903] no longer represents total production of a particular build week, now it's units of the rebatched group, which often contains multiple build weeks.

That dealer has several XLT's in stock and does appear that some are at the $57,495 base and others at 62,995. Their cost should be the lower number as presumably they ordered it at that price. Similar to the price protection a retail customer can get. But definitely confirm before driving up there.

Many years ago I found two identical 2010 F-150's at two different dealers. One was a December build and the other a January build. Price was several hundred $$ different because of a January price increase. I took the December build.

Thanks, folks! Now it's beginning to make sense. Looks as if these trucks have been hanging around for a while (maybe because of those QC checks/issues) but as long as they weren't stored at 100% charge (as I've seen some dealers do), they'd seem to be a better value.

I'll definitely get as much information as the dealer will reveal before making a long drive, though we all know that what we're told over the phone is just as likely to reflect what they think we want to hear as actual reality...

For $32 you can get a good OBD2 reader and for $5 you can get Car Scanner Pro. With this you can read the vehicle modules and see the battery health. For a point of reference my early build '22 Lariat ER is at 97.5% state of health at 28,000 miles. It was a Mannequin with 7k miles and I think it was at 97.5 when I bought it. The owner of the dealership was driving it and said he was getting by on Level 1 charging at home. No idea if it sat at 100% for any amount of time. It's seen lots of DCFC and hot and cold weather road trips since I bought it.

So I wouldn't assume a new truck should show 100% state of health.
