The reason why that lighting is still sitting 2 years later.
Doesn't even qualify for the 7500 federal money. Doesn't show 0 down 0% financing. Doesn't look good when the battery has sat 2 years and the truck isn't driven.

Tell them I'll give them 60k delivered. Time to do to them as they do to us.

This is from a flyer that my local Ford dealer sent out a few days ago. Not only has this been sitting on their lot for 2 years (I know because I've seen it there) the dealership won't even service electric vehicles now.

this is so simple to figure out, they know if they sell a lot EV's, their service manager and service bay will become a loss center... This is like comparing a 48 HP air cooled VW Beetle to a 518 HP Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

I personally feel that since dealerships got a taste of marking up prices during Covid's low inventory some dealers will never go back. Crazy as it seems. There are 2 Ford dealers near me in TN. One is huge. Both have ADMs. 1 is $8k on every vehicle the othere varies but no less than $5k. Including EVs. The large dealer just got in a Raptor-R when I was there. They do a lot of specialty Trucks. Roush and other3rd parties. The Rapto-R, $50K over msrp! Again eastern TN not NY or CA incomes.

This looks like the Dumb & Dumber logic of "so you're tellin' me there's a chance" that someone will see that advertisement and walk in the take it.
There's a sucker Dearborn every day?

There is no "extremely limited market" for electric vehicles. They are growing by double digits every year for the past 15 years.
The market for anything expensive that you have to finance is extremely limited because credit is a problem for people with decent credit. Additionally, while we as ev owners may be enlightened it took a little more than a nudge for most of us to get here.

My truck was a demo that was on the lot for 22 months. It was untitled and on the books as "new" (in my state demos don't have to be titled to the dealer). The dealer told me that Ford said they weren't giving them any more EVs until they sold the two stale ones they had (my truck and a Mach-E). So they finally gave hefty discounts. The dealer wasn't motivated to sell them before as a sort of protest against Ford for their initial onerous and expensive dealer requirements to be EV certified (which they walked back on).

With any of their vehicles, Ford will eventually cut them off from incentives and give dealers a lump sum cash payment for each.

Eventually that truck will sell. Either they will find an unsuspecting buyer, heavily discount it, sell it to another dealer, or maybe take title to it, bury the loss in accounting tricks, and use it as a demo or even send it to auction.

The differences between regions and dealers amazes me. I am from California or Washington, depending on the time of the month. So when I went looking I started by talking to local dealers. They were happy to sell me a Lightning, but none of the sales staff knew anything about the EVs, other than that they were "Clean" vehicles. They also had most of their models stacked with options that put the MSRP over the $80K threshold for the tax credit. So, I looked for where EVs were selling the worst. What I got was a list of the 15 states where they are selling best. Unsurprisingly, CA, OR, WA and NV were high on the list. Idaho was not. I called a couple dealerships near Boise, and got a positive response from Meridian Ford.
They had their Lariats configured with every option only available from the factory, and eliminated every option that could be reasonably installed after market. The result was a well configured Lariat with an MSRP of $79,800. Then they offered a $6K dealer incentive and passed along the $5K factory incentive.
When I picked up the truck, our sales person walked us through about every option and feature on the truck, including getting our PAAS setup, Self parking (which I have not used since), charging procedures (which I knew from our Bolt), etc.. Totally positive experience. It turns out that many of the sales staff are driving Lightnings and are sold on the technology, butthe local population is not so in touch.
Surprisingly, when we had to do our 10K service, we took it to our local Oakland Ford dealer (one of those with not good sales staff) and their service department was fantastic. (If they took one of the service staff and put them on the sales floor, their sales would probably increase.)

So, your saying the Ford Dealer In Oakland Ca. had a great service department. I'm about 10 miles north of them, and will look to them, when I need My Lightning serviced. I don't have a lot of faith in my local dealer. . .

Yes, it is Uptown Ford. I was nervous, but they took good care of us, were friendly and beet their time estimate both times. (One - scheduled service, the second was a recall for the front parking sensor where they needed a part.)
