Getting ready for a 3000 mile trip so I thought I’d try my new Ford adapter for Tesla superchargers. I set up my Ford lightning in the Tesla app, added payment details, hit the start charging along with the particular charging station I was using, and it worked flawlessly. The speed was way faster than my Ford home charging station and the cost per kilowatt without membership was still only $.35 a kilowatt. My Electrify America membership only gets me $.41 a kilowatt. When I actually leave for my trip, I will pay the $12.99 monthly membership fee which will get me down to $.25 per kilowatt. I have to admit I was totally impressed.

Same here. I prefer SC over EA. Keep in mind the kWh charge will vary by location. When I drove from California to Michigan it definitely gets a bit cheaper as you go east lol. The trick I use for SC and to get the truck to pre condition battery if it’s needed is to choose a charger in the factory nav that’s close to the sc that I plan to use that way the truck knows it’s going to charge. Yes, fast charging is magnitudes faster than level 2 charging. Assuming you have a 48amp hardwired charger at home, the max you'll get to the vehicle is around 10.5kW. At peak, a fast charger is going to hit 180kW, and settle around 122kW for much of the charging session.

As to price, your Tesla discount isn't going to be that high. You showed a 29% discount, it's closer to 20 - 22%.

On a recent trip, I used a bunch of Tesla Superchargers:

Columbus, O_io - Paid 31 cents vs. 40 cents. 22.5% discount
Marmet, WV - Paid 36 cents vs. 46 cents. 21.7% discount
Fort Valley, GA - Paid 37 cents vs. 48 cents. 22.9% discount
Richmond, KY - Paid 34 cents vs. 45 cents. 24.4% discount.

Comparable EA locations - note that EA's listed price does NOT include taxes, whereas Tesla's does.

Columbus, O_io - 42 cents vs. 56 cents. So 11 cents more than Tesla, or 35.4% higher, plus taxes.
Cordele, GA (nearest to Fort Valley) - same 42 vs. 56 cents, compared to 36 cents, or 16.7% higher, plus taxes.
Georgetown, KY (nearest to Richmond, KY) - 48 vs 64 cents (highest EA price tier), compared to 34 cents, or 41.2% higher, plus taxes.

As a blanket statement, in MUCH of the country, Tesla with membership is cheaper than EA with membership.

It's not everywhere. And, some Tesla locations have 4 or so price tiers depending on time of day.
