the LIGHTNING loves Walmart parking lots overnight, or even a Campground every now and then, especially near the beach... it also drinks a lot of something called 'Tesla' power... tee hee.

I understand what you are saying but ice you can fix any issue or even replace a motor for reasonable price but the battery which I admit I have no idea what its cost to replace is but that is the only fear of keeping beyond the warranty. I have heard some pretty huge numbers from tesla owners but maybe fords battery is much cheaper.

Replacing an engine with a reman will be similar in cost to a module replacement.

I took delivery of my 2023 Lightning Lariat ER on 1/6/2023 and currently have 63,428 miles on it - all virtually trouble free.

only Ford issue was the connectivity to FordPass was sketchy 2023 into 2024 but they replaced the TCU (telematics communication unit) and it has been good ever since. I also threw on a new set of Cooper Rugged Trek tires, look much better than OE and grippier but a bit louder - minimal if much range impact that I have seen.

Best new vehicle experience I have ever had.

I think battery degradation is the biggest issue for many of us. I tend to keep vehicles for a long time and would love to keep this truck. So far it’s the best vehicle I’ve owned. I keep wondering about the eventual cost of battery replacement as well as if and when better batteries will become available. Right now it seems that everybody is just guessing, but I suspect in a few years we will have more specific information about these issues. Until then, I’ll just keep enjoying the truck as it is

I believe you after the warranty expires if something goes wrong, you should be able to just replace that module and keep on going so I don’t think it’s necessary to remove and replace the whole battery just the affected module that could possibly have a problem. That’s just my opinion.

I’d also like to hear some high mileage Lightnings. I’d also like to hear about any high mileage Mach-e’s as I see a lot of people have those as well. We have thought of getting a Mach-e in the future, but the other vehicle is a RX350 with the NA engines that seem to run close to 7 digit miles…..

You definitely have to remove the whole battery from the truck to replace an individual module.

Early ‘22 delivery Lariat with 72k miles and running strong with last deep analysis of pack SOH at 95.5% and a LOT of supercharging sessions. Only major issue I’ve had is 5 replacements of the rear lightbar.
