2023 lightning pro. After 6 months my truck started getting a charge fault about 2 minutes after plugging in and won't charge. Chargepoint replaced the charger and cable. Replaced the breaker too. Still get same fault. Dealer checked it out and says there's nothing wrong with the truck. Still gets a fault at home. It will charge at other chargers.
Any suggestions?

What size breaker?
What other chargers? DCFC?

It's a 60amp breaker.
I've done fast DC charging and the mobile charger that comes with it on a 120 volt plug. I even went and found a slow speed chargepoint charger that was a public charger just to see if it would work and it did. The only place it doesn't work is at home

You said you charged at a slower public charger. What was it's amperage and have you tried derating your Chargepoint?

Do you have a schedule programmed into the ChargePoint?

I'm not sure what the amperage was at the slower public charger. I've done it at a fast DC charger and a slow public charger and also the mobile charger just hooked up to a 120 volt wall outlet. Do you mind if I ask how you derate the charge point?

Is your wire gauge sized properly for the breaker? Connectors tightened properly?Maybe lowering charger amperage might help?

I would assume through the app. That is how I do it on my Emporia.

My thought is, excluding the DC charging because they use different pins, maybe your charge port is reading a high temperature when charging at 48 amps. If you can derate it 24 or 32 amps, you could prove that theory out.

DCFC is a different beast compared to a home/ J1772 charger.

Open the app, tap the home icon on the bottom bar, then you can change the “charge current limit” setting. I have mine set to 40A on a 50A breaker and it works great.

With a 60A breaker, the max you should set yours is 48A. Make sure it’s no higher than that. If it’s at 48, try dropping to 40.

Thanks! That worked. I lowered it to 40A on the chargepoint app and it kept stopping on the chargepoint charger side every 5- 10 minutes but the truck didn't fault. Then I lowered it to 30A and it worked fine and charged.

Nice! I’m glad it worked. At some point I’d have an electrician check your wires and breaker to make sure everything is safe. You don’t want to risk a fire. It’s likely your wire gauge was too small for the current it was drawing.
