Just to check too, you made all three changes in forscan too?
Yes, and double checked. The manual light button you install in bed wouldn’t even activate the lights. Haven’t seen a no option Pro owner get this to work yet.

Mine wouldn't activate them either until I did for forscan changes (but mine isn't a no option pro).

Alright everyone, need a little help or at least your opinions.

I just completed this addition to my '23 XLT. Everything went smoothly, triple checked my connections. My switch and harnesses were ordered from Tasca, and I bought the more affordable lights (non-OEM) from Amazon.

The lights should work with the button press even without Forscan, correct? I know I need Forscan to tie them into my Zone Lighting, but I thought they'd work manually without any software changes.

When I press the button, the over the cab/brake light down lights turn on and off, but the lights I just installed don't. So I know the button and harnesses are working.

Just wanted to double check before I pull the lights to return them, and spend the extra cash on OEM lights from Tasca.

As a FYI the Christmas tree post on the side of the wire that plugs into the lamp goes into the hole that is on the lamp itself. It's a strain relief so any vertical pull is on that rather than the plug.

My laptop decided it needed to update for a insane amount of time will report when I get the forscan changes in.

Care to share a picture of where it goes into? I don’t remember a hole on the back of the lamp.

i can try and grab one with the linex the lamps were a pretty tight fit, so I'm hesitant to pry them back out. I wasn't thinking I should have snapped a pic before snapping them in.

But also no issues with install/enabling them on a 22 Pro tow tech/max tow. Super simple like 15 minutes to install and a bit more for the forscan (mainly as it was like my first time using forscan)

sorry remembered this but tried to pull my light but the linex added thickness made is super annoying to pull the lamp back out and i didnt want to force anything but you can se the post with the Hole in the OP's post i circled it. basically the top Christmas tree plug is a strain relief that plugs into the lamp itself not the body.

slightly different style lamp but https://www.quirkparts.com/oem-parts/ford-cargo-lamp-fl3z13a756a shows a good picture of what the back of the lamp looks like just plug the plug in, then the Christmas tree into the hole creates a nice "loop" for strain relief on the plug.

i don't think its anything crucial lol, It jsut puzzled me where that christmas tree went and I looked all over the body, then it clicked that it fit that hole perfectly (also less stuff to rattle around) If i was more nosey i should have pulled a lamp out of a loaner ICE F150 i once had and checked but im like 98% sure thats the factory intended design

I think I had some slack on the wiring and wasn't sure why; guess that solves it lol.

I installed my lamps months ago but finally picked up a laptop and OBD2 adapter. Updated with Forscan last night and everything works perfectly on my 23' XLT. Thank you everyone for your help!
