Anyone care to help me parse these sentences about the prioritization process?

Prioritization does not guarantee allocation. Dealer prioritization will be an input to
determine invitations to convert to an order, it is not correlated to vehicle scheduling
timing or amount of allocation at each dealership.
To ME, and I could be wrong, it allows the dealer to give some level of priority to certain customers, but they *say* it's just an "input"... not a guarantee. So, perhaps it's more like a "multiplier" than a set bump. For instance, if you JUST reserved two weeks ago, but your dealer gives you priority, then in Ford's system, perhaps you go from 200,000 in line to 100,000 in line, but not necessarily the FRONT of the line, even for that dealer. If you were 10,000 in line, now maybe you're 5,000 in line and that bumps you from 5th in line at the dealer to 2nd in line at the dealer.

I'm just speculating, though, because clearly they let the dealer change internal priority, moving anyone straight to #1 if they want. BUT does that necessarily indicate the order in which the trucks will be prioritized by FORD? I don't think that's clear. The wording that it's an "input" to me means that they take dealer priority into consideration, BUT it's not set in stone that the trucks will be delivered to buyers in the order that they are in the dealer's system (even ignoring trim level and parts availability that could blow everything up).

I certainly hope that dealers can't just move around the orders however they want and completely negate the reservation timing. Ford makes it sound like they can't, and that it's just an "input", but who knows?

I took it as the dealer can prioritize people up to the limit set by Ford, but that does not guarantee an allocation for everyone prioritized. (i.e. if they can prioritize 10 people, they may still only get 6 allocation and 4 of the prioritized folks get bumped to 2023.

Somehow Ford has figured out a way to make me hate the dealer model more than I did before.

I think your interpretation is accurate. I was hoping that it meant that the ranking is a "weighting" factor not the be-all-and-end-all factor that determines priority.

I really don't understand why dealers need to have the ability to prioritize customers with the Lightning. Both Ford and the dealer are making the sale either way and it introduces "moral" hazard into the allocation process.

this is correct, just because a dealer has 100+ reservations and prioritizes 25 people it does not guarantee the dealer will get allocation for 25 or more 2022 trucks. Makes the Koons offer that much funnier, they are prioritizing 10 people for $30k ADM but there is no guarantee they get 10 trucks. With the email being public if I was a Ford product decision person I would pull 100% of Koons allocation and notify their reservation holders immediately. Every dealer that is advertising ADM for prioritization should have the same. That alone will kill this practice moving forward.

BTW Koons is one of the sleaziest dealers out there, came across them looking for a Stinger GT2 years ago and their advertised price was crazy low. got into discussions with them and their price suddenly jumped to above MSRP at the time.

We simply don’t know, and neither do the dealers or anyone except Ford, how heavily the prioritization will be weighed vs other factors like reservation time stamp. Let’s just say they do the right thing, happy customers are important for them too. In the long run, more important than a quick buck. They did promise $40K Pros at launch, for retail customers, I hope they’ll stick to it.

I hope that leaked order guide is wrong on the pricing and the delivery dates otherwise you are basically waiting a year for a $56k pro model.

Agreed.

If it's be-all-and-end-all, then it's complete garbage and incredibly scummy on the part of Ford and dealers. You could have the very first Lightning reservation in the world and if your dealer prioritizes a bunch of people in front of you, which there's no way for you to reliably get this info, then you may not get a Lightning for years. If you're at a dealer with 25 priority slots and only 10 allocations per year, you may not even get this GENERATION of Lightning.

Just remember folks - at the end of the day it is all about the golden rule. "He who has the gold makes the rules"

I think those dates and prices are just place holders. We’ll just have to wait and see, hope for the best.

uh.......not great I would guess. Again the reservation numbers and timestamps previously discussed on this forum have us all believe they started somewhere around 10810000 so that will put you right about 50,000 on the reservation list. My assumption would be to get a MY22 you would need to priority bump unless your dealer can get a high allocation volume. Maybe ask them how many F150's they sell a year roughly and how many MachE allocations they got. That may help you judge getting it early vs MY23.

Having only 14 reservations makes me guess they aren't a volume dealer
Took your advise and asked for a priority slot. Dealer put me to #2 of 5 priority slots he has!

If those prices are correct I will be pretty frustrated. Pro in fall 2023 for $56,410? Maybe they are only making Extended range batteries for the first couple years plus a price increase? I hope its just random numbers that they put in there. $69k for the XLT has to be wrong.

what if they were going to make the ER standard and those are just price points with the assumption of the customer getting the $12.5k? Im sure they were just placeholders from some testing they were doing, Probably amounts to nothing but still would like to see where they originated from.

I asked my dealer about these prioritizations. The rep at the dealer responded and said "Don't listen to any chatter - we don't play any of the games you might hear other dealers might try pulling - we don't move anyone." Maybe I'll respond and ask if that is a guarantee.
