2023 Lightning XLT ER
At the presumed $8k-$10k price difference I see no reason to get a standard range XLT. Either buy the Pro or the extended XLT.

Especially since they are listing some of the expected features like Push button start as optional.

I have to assume this is a chip issue. No way switching out the ignition between models Id saving money.

On the original spec sheet. All trims had push start.

I like how the moderator answered the questions he or she wished were asked rather than the questions actually asked. I would rather that the moderator say that they do not know the answer rather than providing a non responsive answer.

The moderator said that the pro model will come with a key fob and key switch to start it (no start button) - huge miss by ford if that's the case. This is an EV not an ICE car from the 80's
I would rather have a traditional key rather than push button start. The key makes the truck harder to steal. And yes, I know, if someone wants it, they will take it.

Yea lol - I asked if you could use the 9kW power on board and charge the truck at the same time. Would love to know that.. so if you wanted to charge your truck at an RV site, using the RV site's power connection, while also keeping your RV going.

Finally some good info and some true differentiation between trims that will force people to drop out or upgrade. I don’t like that push start is not option but still staying with standard battery Pro…

I believe it was covered in another livestream that yes you are able to do that. It also works while driving.

Holy crap I thought you were joking. They really played some mental gymnastics to not answer half those questions. A few weren't off base, they were playing a different game entirely.

Just don't answer them at all at that point.

Better info on this presentation than the last one.
He made sure not to promise any exact time frames, just "order banks open in January".

I did learn that the Platinum with Max Tow will only tow 8500 lbs. I thought all models with extended range would tow 10,000 lbs?
Ford had indicated at the reveal that the Platinum would only tow 8500 lbs with the maximum tow package vs 10,000 lbs on he Lariat. I fully expect it is due to the 22" wheels that will be on all Platinums.

So based on information so far, I'm not even sure why anyone would buy a Platinum for anything other than bragging rights.

I don't think that Ford records livestreams for rebroadcast...bummer. I made time to watch but it was at the time that I was putting the kids to bed...I wonder what's the best day/time for Ford to broadcast these? (in case anyone from Ford is reading these comments)...

I thought last night's stream was really informative...

The fact that these aren't being streamed and/or archived on YouTube is baffling. There must be some reason, but I can't imagine what.

It's on youtube, but not on a Ford account. Just search for Ford Livestream.

Sidenote: I can tell the presenter is a Michigan native, "we seen" instead of "we saw" LOL.

8500 pounds towing is still pretty good (same as my 2015) and enough for most people, if they prioritize comfort and style over capability. XLT for me.

Not the wheels/tires because they also said that the payload on the platinum is 1800lbs like the lariat is.
Besides, tongue weight on a 10,000lb trailer is usually around 1200lb, that is still a large headroom if payload is 1800.

can't believe you still have to put a key in a hole in 2022. shouldn't push start be standard by now?
