Wave 1 Lightning Orders - Granger Ford

So no one has been able to place an order yet today? Any word on delay on opening order banks?

Dealers can do all the paperwork if sure you are #1, Wave #1, prior to Ford email but they will hold it until Ford Order Bank opens.

Mine has done this and if I get bumped 2 weeks or more he will submit at that time.

I got the email and clicked the button to order through my dealer....reason was my salesman had already built the configuration but it wouldn't go through until I "consented". He did tell me that I was the only one from their dealership shortlist (of 5 names) that got the golden ticket today (I was the top of the list). Not a surprise given that they only had 29 total reservations at this dealership.

So now we wait until the order is confirmed by Ford (clean build I guess). Lariat 511A in Atlas Blue.

Yup I did. And my salesman texted me screebngrabs of my build as well as the order in his system with all the other orders they have.

I ordered on the second day, well 2 minutes past 12am, so that would put me in the 20K camp.

I am seeing mixed reports how many are getting produced for the 22 MY and the 23 MY. So with dealer priorities in place… I have no idea when I will get mine.

Honestly, with the pricing and options that came out I'm fine with waiting till a 23 model order. Hopefully they'll have a cheaper ER option. If not I have a reservation in for the Silverado. Also it looks like the VW bus is getting an official debut on March 9 so maybe I'll go that way and just keep my current tow vehicle.

I spoke to my dealer yesterday. I was informed I’m in Wave 1 and at the top of the order banks. I was asked to build my Lightning via Build & Price and send my dealer the spec. Based on my understanding, they’re going to convert my rez to an order tomorrow on my behalf.

Go Spartans! (class of 76) I reserved early morning after the reveal. I'm feeling more confident I'll be in wave 2.

Being very optimistic they will produce around 40k MY2022, now, if they allocate 60% for lariat and platinum models then only 24k lariats/platinums will be produced in 2022. Then, u will only have the chance to get MY2022 if u ordered the lightning in the first hour of reveal and if u r priority by ur dealer and if ur dealer is a big dealer and if ordered a Lariat/platinum; and it helps that u r in a EV state. If any or more of those r missed, i think u r looking at a MY2023 or MY2024

Yes, ford stated they will double production by 2023 for 150k unit but i really doubt they can improve production for 2022 given the chips and parts shortages. Perhaps 2023 can be a better year in terms of production, 100k+ units, however 2022 it is not going to be possible most likely.

I reserved it at the first hour of the unveiling (10816xxx) and i am priority at my dealer but my dealer is not big and i am not in a EV state. I have called my dealer and they told me they r expecting to get only 3 to 5 MY2022 in total so they said just wait and see if i am lucky one ... They told me most likely MY2023 i will get

40k for 2022 Model year is very very optimistic. I think 15k to 25k is a much better estimate. Just getting to 20k would be a great ramp up!
