Then why are you here? Are you looking forward to getting the Lighting or are you just here to troll as your form of entertainment?
I don't troll. This is the "im out" thread. There are just a lot of upset people over how ordering the lighting is, when there honestly shouldn't be, given how the very same vehicle they are stressing over ordering may serious end up being a massive headache to own. Particularly job 1 trucks.

He's just enjoying feeling good about his choice to purchase a diesel, but doing so by insulting every other F150 available.

His truck probably is awesome. A 2021 F150 Platinum, regardless of drive train, is an amazing ride. But the Power stroke is heavy, slow, and has the lowest cargo capacity of any F150. It has been pulled from the F150 lineup because diesels no longer can compete with modern gas, hybrid, and now EV trucks.

You're doing it now.

I'm happy you found your diesel Plarinum, especially since you were so disappointed with your EcoBoost. And admire your occupation, especially with everything going on with Healthcare today. But you've become insufferable in this thread. And with that, I bid you goodbye.

As at least one other response has said, you are trolling. Nothing wrong with that if that is how you entertain yourself, just own it.

Cancelled today. I still believe Ford has a good product in the Lightning. It was a combination of the wait plus my wife's range anxiety. I'll revisit in about 5 years. Still have a beautiful ICE truck to use, unless I trade it for a luxury sports sedan. ?

No matter what it is, the results of a handful of people online cannot be used to form an overall opinion and certainly isn't statistically reliable. There's around 1% of lightning reservations registered on the list here and I'd guess probably less than 100 people who are actively posting. That's nowhere near a large enough sample size to be meaningful at all.
5 major problems out of tens of thousands of vehicles is nothing.
Porsche is one of the top rated manufacturers for reliability. In 2014 they replaced the motor in around 800 gt3 vehicles. Does this mean that model is unreliable? Does this mean that any 911 or any other new model that has come sense is unreliable? I don't think so.

now who is trolling??

I do feel good about my purchase, yes. But attacking me/ my truck choice personally isn’t gonna change the fact that the EV lighting is a rip off and the job 1 trucks will likely have many issues Ford will need to work out, dragging you guys as owners along for the ride.

Regarding "can't keep up" (since you want to go there), that distinction belongs to the EV lighting unfortunately. The 3.0/ 3.5/ 5.0/ powerboost are all better options than the EV for what matters most. My truck has double the range, refuels 18x faster, and has more towing and payload (2138 vs 1800 and 12,100 vs 10k). I could literally load my truck up to max towing and beat the EV lighting (empty) on range, as can the powerboost probably too.

I’m not here to insult other F150’s. I'm just asking those "on the fence", why buy an EV lighting when you can get the same trim non EV truck (with better stats) and remodel your kitchen for the same price?

But when it’s comes to towing/ cargo capacity, it’s the EV that sits at the bottom of the pack (rear independent suspension). that’s not insults, just facts.

I’m not here to insult other F150’s. literally a platinum with ANY drivetrain is a better buy than the EV platinum or any other apple to apple trim comparison. Why buy EV lighting when you can get the same trim truck with an ICE engine and remodel your kitchen for the same price?

Oh and the diesel was pulled due to ever increasing emissions standards (especially CA) per the Ford engineers I spoke to on the zoom call earlier this year.
Once again, why are you here on the Lighting forum? Entertainment value?

just tryna save some people 20+k ?
If people wanted to save $20k they wouldn't be buying a new truck at all. They'd wait till the used car market settled down in a year or two and go buy a $20k used truck and drive it till it totally died.

People cross state lines to save much less than 20k. Shopping for a new truck and trying to save $ in the process is normal.

popularity doesn’t equal reliability. And despite Teslas quality control issues, they are miles ahead of Ford in the EV game, especially in reliability.
Your opinion is directly contradicted by the facts above with Ford MachE, a brand new EV from Ford, beating EVERY Tesla for reliability.

Except you provided *opinions* and are trying to pass them off as facts. CR predicting a car to be reliable doesn’t make it so. Sorry bud, but real world owners of the Mach E directly contradict what you’re trying to sell. Their experiences with Ford’s first EV is why I recommended people wait in the first place, so Ford can work these issues out and not drag good people into it.
