Once they get the start up kinks out of the production process, I wonder how the build time for a Lightning vs. gas F-150 will be? Will the EVs assemble quicker due to the drivetrain differences?
Regardless of how much easier or difficult the assembly of a Lightning is to an ICE F150, Ford DOES produce more than 10,000 per week.
550,000 annually year after year.
That's more than one every minute of every hour of every day of the week for the year.

Pretty sure it would take a long time for Ford to match that pace right out of the box for any vehicle. It's the King of America's assembly lines.

The Lightning is not a far departure from an ICE F150 in terms of physical attributes, so if the F150 fits the Lightning should be similar. The real difference I suspect will be the driving impressions, which I believe/hope will not disappoint.
i’m really looking forward to that ER acceleration. 4.4 sec to 60!

Did we ever get that officially? I thought the best we have heard is mid 4's.

i heard someone say 4.4 but who knows. Mid 4s is great regardless. I assume we’ll start seeing some real world testing around April.

I was trying to search what the pro SR will do and could only find the mid 4 second for the ER battery.

I was trying to search what the pro SR will do and could only find the mid 4 second for the ER battery.
We have heard low to mid 5's for the SR battery, but no official number that I know of.

Note, the SR is actually likely faster (a little) off the line than the ER due to having the same torque and less weight, it will just start to fall off faster due to less HP. My guess is that transition point is around 30 mph, but I am guessing at a lot of things to come up with that number. Call it somewhere between 20 and 40.

Yeah, i think in most low speed driving the SR and ER probably won’t feel much different in terms of acceleration. The ER will pull away a little at higher speeds.

But seriously, as Canada didn't have 'waves' in the same way, will those orders get sprinkled in with wave 1,2.... & fleet presumably by reservation number? Same truck, just KM's and some French stickers inside the door jambs.?

The only difference is the stickers. The display is totally digital so it is just a slightly different default software, the truck itself would be exactly the same.

Idk what battery the Pro "prototype" i took a test drive in on the track last year had in it, whether SR or ER, but i'll tell you one thing, when the driver punched it, it pushed you back in your seat pretty nicely.

As a current Tesla owner, I’m really looking forward to getting a quality vehicle. I toured Tesla’s Fremont factory, and it was a general shitshow. Not hard to see why so many people get cars delivered with quality issues (mine included).

That is likely the same truck I rode in, they told me all their demo vehicles were ER Batteries.

I think we know that the SR and ER will share the same motor specs, and there is a decent chance battery packs would both physically support the max power draw being asked of the ER (would be more damaging to smaller pack over time if it was permitted by control software). The important factor I have not seen that we have data on is if the VFD-inverters driving the motor have the same power specs between the two pack sizes. If they do, the derated power of the SR from ER would likely only be from software curve programmed into the inverter. I'm not sure it makes sense for Ford to spend on 102kW of unused inverter capacity electronics in every SR for parts uniformity, so I'm going to assume a lower power (and lighter) motor-inverter. Between larger ER .otor-inverter and unknown SR motor-inverter programming limits it seems possible ER could achieve an equivalent torque at first pedal press understanding the higher weight, but no way to really know yet I suppose. I think we just know that the motors are probably the limiting factor on instantaneous torque at some speed or speeds, with the common torque rating published for both range iterations.

I think my lariat ER said 20 weeks, but I might have missed the number. I didn't take a screenshot and I think they are placeholder numbers anyway
My wave-3 Lariat-ER is projected for 24 weeks.

Job 1 is for all orders.

I've heard that we are expected to start producing about 1000 trucks (retail + fleet) a week starting in mid-March, beginning with the mannequin orders.

Ford is serious about producing as many as we can. They moved the Job1 date up a month.
It is normal that dealers get their showroom/demo vehicles from early builds, but I highly doubt that is the case for Lightning. Dealer demos were pretty much "last in line" for the Mach-E. It makes zero sense to send "Customer Demo" units to dealers, because the intent of those units is to spur sales. Ford can't make enough for the current demand, and spurring sales is opposite of what Ford needs right now. It would make zero sense. Why would you send the dealer a demo, which they can't sell for ~6 months or X miles, when your have 100,000 people waiting months for a truck? Farley is a lot of things, but dumb is not one of them.

There are no management lease vehicles, which typically would be the first vehicles delivered. It's likely the first will be a Barrett Jackson unit, and the next few for Bill Jr., etc. The only, and I mean only way the dealers get demo stock (mannequins) is if Ford is wants to send some units into the wild to get some data back from these units. There are lots of better ways to do that.
