I received TWO marketing emails from Ford today...

One was a survey about the Lightning... the other was another one about getting ready to charge it... "Make room for your new F-150 Lightning"

I think their intention is to help keep us excited about our soon to be delivered trucks... but they're major buzz-kills when the only email I'm hoping to see from them is the one saying I've got a production date.

Just got an email saying we didn't mean to send you an email about charging prep lol. Ford troll level off the charts.

Got the same thing. Made me laugh too. Ford is telling so many lies that they’re starting to lose track.

Ordered early 5/20...Never heard anything from anyone. Looks like no 2022 for me, and I'm guessing they won't offer the cheap Pro in 2023 at all...The Chevy is ugly, the Rivian is sold out for two years, and I still have months before I'll know anything about the Maverick I ordered...Wound up buying a 2017 Bolt that I love, but boy...it'll only tow my dirt bike around if I exceed its towing capacity of zero!

If I were a car company, I'd develop an electric Maverick for $40k and build only that for the next two years...

I haven't been following the Bronco closely, but there are some folks who reference the build structure from there.

It looks like if we hear anything this Thursday, there's about a 12-13 week lead time once it's "Scheduled for Production". So as of right now the earliest production week for us would be June 13th

Then once it's production week, it looks like 1-2 weeks to be built. (~June 27)
Then it's 3-4 weeks for shipping. (July 18-25)

So just it looks like a reasonable expectation to have the vehicle in hand is approximately 16-19 weeks from "today". With "today" being a general rolling date until the actual day comes.

Does that all seem accurate?

The round of scheduling a week and a half ago took us to a build week of 5/30. Probably should expect the next round of scheduling will be June builds.

So far on this forum we have 1,395 reservations, 272 orders and 59 build dates.

That’s only 22% of the orders scheduled for building. Lightning Job 1 is Monday March 14th. If 2022 production goes through October 2022 then the scheduled months are only 33% completed. And remember, the first part of scheduling is for mannequin units.

That's kind of what I was basing it off of. It's quite amazing that it's already 22% of builds as it is, but you're saying that it's conceivable to go as far as November to receive delivery then right? (If you've already ordered)

My own figures mirror p52Ranch's. :)

I believe that all orders to date will be scheduled (worst case) by the end of June. Many of the VIN#s between 002800-005900 may not yet be filled in. And there may still be some room for more ordering before the end of the MT2022 run.

It all depends on variables we may never know such as the worsening supply chains. Ford may well decide to end MY2022 by September and changeover to MY2023.

If you figure that VINs 000001-002800 are mannikins, 002800-005900 (known to date and are only 22-25% of orders) are retail, then the coming VIN numbers will be 005800-015000. I still do not believe Fleet orders were ever included in the original public 15,000 MY2022 estimates.

No matter...it does no good for anyone to stress about if or when they will get a Lightning. Good things take awhile and no one of us has any control over the process. If you get one in July..GREAT! But if it is November it just gives more time to save up that down payment. For me I only stress that I really want mine by December 31st so I can get my $7,500 2023 Tax Credit. :p

I also received an email from ford asking if I wanted to cancel my reservation? If I didn't want to cancel that my order would likely be in June sometime!

It's the other way around for me. I spent the last year saving up for my truck and it's now burning a hole in my pocket. The longer I go, the more times I go - oh look! oooh shiny! If it's 6 months down the road, it's low rates but lock it into a CD, make a little bit and take it away from myself from being accessed.

I'd like to I know when I can get mine, ordered 2/18 wave 4. I want to get a good price in my low mileage Tacoma (don't need two trucks) and I can get a sales tax credit if the sale/purchase transactions occur within 3 months of each other. If the repurchase of our Chevy bolt happened a month and a half faster there would be $1800 more in my checking account now.

Question about the credit.

if I pick up a Mach E on lot this week and then if my Lightning is built and and I take delivery and trade in Mach E this year do I get to file for 2 EV credits?

You absolutely can file for both. I won't get into the rules - they are on the IRS web site, you just have to have enough tax liability to qualify for the full money back. You likely already know that and do.
