Yes. If Ford halts all EV production it could be good news for the federal tax credit side of things… this I agree.

But bad news for the company and the stock. The market come Monday morning would just love to hear that. Meanwhile Tesla continues pumping out thousands of cars per days and it about to open giga Texas to more than double production on their even more profitable vehicles. Hmm. .

Pumping them out is right and the QC issues abound. Time for another price hike!

Short term pains for long term gains.

I’ve been with Tesla longer than most.For those that don’t remember, Tesla slowed production heading into 200,000 units to gain an extra quarter as well. That allowed them to keep their sales momentum instead of losing sales due to the tax credit expiring.

Received the “Your 2022 F-150 Lightning LARIAT Order.” Email yesterday morning. It includes my VIN officially now (same as one hidden on the web page I already had). Wave 1 (1/6 order) Lariat ER plus only: spray bed liner, AT tires, tray floor liner. (Included tow tech)

No “Important update” email or delay shown online yet.
The email above does also say:
In your Built Order Status email, we will provide you an estimated delivery window of when your vehicle will arrive at XXX Ford. While you wait, check out the status of your vehicle at any time by clicking the button below.

Like others have said, seems like this is a CYA e-mail going out to anyone with an order. Some people not getting the e-mail is probably just a glitch in their system.

My Email yesterday stated, in part:

"Big things are happening right now. We are excited to let you know your 2022 F-150 Lightning LARIAT SuperCrew has been scheduled for production. Your vehicle is scheduled to be built the week of April 25, 2022"

This is moves our build date up from May 2, 2022!! The email also included our Vin #.

Ordered 08/30/21 PB 701A package, converted to MY22 on 10/25/21. This is the first email I have received from Ford since my initial email indicating I was being converted to 2022MY. No response from the dealership either. I sure hope they don't send us vehicles missing non-related safety features - I'd rather wait for a fully built and functional product Ford!

As someone who went through them process with a Mach-e, patience is going to be your best friend through this. Ours was originally going to be built in October, then that slipped to early November. That date didn't change, but it actually got built in late November and didn't ship until early December. And we were lucky, others that had the same build week are still waiting on their cars.

I ordered October 15 2021 , Lariat, 502a, 5.0, Black Appearance Package…. still no VIN or build date!

A few others got their Black Appearance package trucks who ordered around my time ugh!

Man - no kidding. My partner is being pretty good about it, but a little hacked. We have two Model 3's today. My Lightning is supposed to be built 5/23. He had his finger on the button to order a new Y earlier in the week. We decided we didn't want to be trading both within a few weeks of each other, so he didn't order. The next day the Y went up by $3,000. I was the one thinking we should wait a bit on the Y and it cost us $3K. I really wanted to wait on a Y built in TX was the main reason for not ordering, but it is going to cost us now either way. Ford better not delay the Lightning now for sure - or it is gong to be even worse for me.

They held some deliveries and I think sent many to Canada - they played it very well to squeeze out another full quarter.

This exact thing stopped me from ordering a Y. I was debating it over a week and then bam, huge price increase inside a model year. Say what you will about dealership models but the prices seem to stay a certain way until the next year is released.
