My phone app has the breakdown for how power is used. I suspect it is pretty accurate. Big very old hungry water heater shows up as $30 a month. Whacky old big fridge takes another $30.

Hoping for a hybrid water heater if they ever go on sale again. Swap fridge out with modern. Just replaced one of the HVAC's with a heat pump and freed up 65 A in panel.

Does anyone have an actual reservation to install one of these? With vehicles under production starting this week, we should have people with reservations and firm price estimates by now I would hope.

Can you confirm which provider offers this service? There are TOU plans available, but all I've seen to date are simply that, different rates based on times. I've not seen any plan that can determine if you have an EVSE plugged in.
my utility in Maryland offers TOU with certain level 2 chargers. These are WiFi connected chargers, so utility is interfacing with those manufactures. in MD Tesla chargers use a 3rd part app that “I think” accesses their Tesla account to determine time of day charger was in use and reports to utility.

I got a quote from a local electrician...$4300 for a new panel going from a 150amp service to a 200amp service. The panel is full but the main run is on the opposite side of the panel, so its a short run.

Sure would be nice if those guys would show material and labor in their quotes.

I am wondering then same. Our Lightning “roll down the line” date is 4/22 - only a week away.
Both Ford and Sunrun can’t even confirm who will deliver the CSP that comes with our ER edition. We already have the 240v 100a 3-wire work done if our electrician could have all the details.

I’m not going be happy if we have to wait for the equipment after the truck arrives. Why not allow us to get it now via refundable deposit held until we take delivery of the truck. The dealer doesn’t know either.

An 80A branch circuit with #4 wire will not allow the Charge Station Pro to operate at full output. It needs to be a 100A circuit with #3 wire.

Trying to find that info you provided to show the electrician. Does Ford have a document that you found?

My comments were based on my knowledge of the NEC, which treats an EVSE as a continuous load, thus requiring a 20% derate of the branch circuit.

But here is a link to the Ford installation specs calling for a 100A circuit.

Going to use the included 80amp. My question is when do I get the charger?

When you finalize your truck deal and drive the truck home.

Here is the Ford document showing that you need a dedicated 100a 240v breaker to get 80a usable amps. It also says that you can use a 20a-100a breaker which is adjustable in the charge station pro. And, you will get 80% of the breaker amperage as usable. So, if you have an 80a 240v breaker, you should get 64a.

Just a clarification. The EVSE can’t read the breaker size on your circuit. You have to specifically set the switches in the EVSE to limit the charging current.
