I wonder if they actually have it though. According to all the trackers, it is still showing in production. Any chance you could swing by? If they actually have it, I’d make a 3 hour drive to Wichita Falls to drive one.
It does say "Recent Arrival" but I won't have the time this weekend to go check out to see if its there (If I could, I'd go check on Sunday, since dealers are always closed on Sunday)

I talked to one of my local dealers that has one in transit happens to be a Platinum model a salesman told me they won't let anyone that isn't pre-approved for 100k+ to drive it even if they have a reservation at their dealership

So I can go test drive a new BMW I4 M50 which is much faster and sportier without qualifying for $100k but I can't test drive a Truck given to dealers by Ford without being qualified for $100k on a $79k truck. Hilarious.

I guess they’ll owe you the ten grand that you’re over the 100K. Spend it wisely!

the window sticker is blue, which means "dealer stock" - I'm thinking it's the FCTP and they are hoping Ford won't enforce the rules on it (or they are going to do the workaround someone posted where with enough effort they can manage to sell the FCTP "safely").
Yup, F001

I'm sure they're trying to keep the miles down so they can sell it "new" after the 6-month hold is over. I don't know what the rules are on how the dealers have to present it but I'm sure the sales guy will pitch it as new if it's got 100 or 200 miles on it. If it's got 800 miles then that's not really going to fly.

I get it, but then there is no point in having mannequins. I think Ford has really dropped the ball on this who thing. I am not sure why they didn't just allocate 3 per dealer plus whatever Reservations. They are going to lose a lot of Reservations once the HYPE has died down, especially if these reviews next week come out short of expectations.

From the looks of it, Ford is more concerned with PR right now even though it's sold out, I don't get the embargo to be honest.

You can test drive it if you prove you can afford it. I think that's pretty common for dealers to require, especially for high demand/price vehicles. Otherwise, they'll spend all day with people wanting to take a test drive with no intent to buy. Believe me, you can't just walk into a Porsche dealership and ask to test drive a GT3 without some proof you can buy it.

I think Ford has handled it fine and I seriously doubt they will lose more than a handful of reservations over petty gripes about PR that wasn't perfect. I would question whether those people were serious buyers in the first place. Media embargoes are standard practice in the auto industry. This is nothing new.
