Good News, my truck is complete. Just waiting for delivery. The following response is from a helpful Chat representative at Ford.

"Michael, I see that your vehicle has been produced. It was completed on 2022-04-22 and is currently at our  Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (revc), in MI. As of right now there is no ETA listed for delivery. This information is listed as "ETA Pending Final Launch Readiness Sign Off Expected Spring 2022". Currently, no additional information is listed regarding this I would recommend continuing to stay in touch with your dealership and checking back periodically for any new information."

I think Ford rec'd the OK2Buy so I imagine that I am really waiting for the press embargo to be lifted.

I assume things are very hectic right now and probably won't be updated very quickly.

I hope you get it soon. Again, I don't understand the embargo on a car that is already sold out and has reservations turned to orders. Yes, industry standard, but I've always understood it was for cars set to go on sale.

I think you're right. They don't want new owners to potentially scoop the press or the "influencers."

Have you seen all the photos floating around today? The mass parking of lightnings ⚡?
now everyone seems to speculate that chip shortage is affecting our lightnings.
I’m as bummed as you - I’m pretty sure I saw yours in one of the photos.

Starting to think my truck will be built next week and won't end up at a dealer until July.
Yeah - that sounds about right. I keep telling folks it is about 2 months from build date to delivery but no-one wants to believe me.

I’m used to it. Bronco built July 23 and didn’t get it until beginning of October. Some people got theirs little over 2 weeks after being built and I was a little over two months after it being built.

Hoping it’s better with the Lightning, than what I went through last year with the Bronco.

I don’t want to believe it because it only took my ICE 2 weeks from built to delivery with bedliner in the middle of a pandemic and chip shortage …but….. I think you might be right

I have a 2017 Tacoma 6spMT bought new in spring 2018. It has about 10k miles. I don't have a build week yet and want to get as much for it to go towards my lightning, but need the transaction to be no more than 3 months from the lightning purchase date (sales tax credit is good for 3 months. After 3 months you get no credit. It took GM 7 weeks too long on our BOLT repurchase to get the tax credit on our Volvo purchase. 6 percent of 30k is quite a bit).

I've also been telling myself that if I get my truck by labor day, I'll be happy (6/6 build week). That said, Farley keeps pumping out buzz about how important the truck is to Ford and how they will receive chip priority. Lets hope they also receive ship priority!

If @idahospud Lightning was waiting on a chip then it would not show as produced / built in the system. It would still show "In Production".

I think the speculative "chip shortage" comment by @Administrator and by Ford Authority in the post of all the Lightning's parked at the test track amounts to clickbait. Posting the pictures of the trucks being parked is great but then speculating that they are parked there due to a chip shortage was irresponsible.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Ford built 2,500+ Lightnings before the OKTB was produced and they had to be parked somewhere until they could be shipped. Another 500 or so were produced between OKTB and the media embargo is lifted.

I don't know why Ford held off on the Media test drives until the same day as OKTB and then has a media embargo until May 10th. I think the media embargo should have been lifted before OKTB.

What it does mean is another week of trucks accumulating in Dearborn before they get shipped. After all Ford doesn't want someone working for the railroad blogging about how the Lightning drove when it got loaded onto a rail car until after 5/10. ;)

I'll also point out that the shipping industry is struggling now as well. They simply may not be abe to move them as fast as normal due to shortage of trucks/trains.

Well, they probably won’t ship any ICE trucks that they don’t have chips for, so I think you’re on to something here!
