So I have a little fun news to share. This is not my truck (so Ford nothing to shut off for me) but another user has shared with me that his 5/23 week blend (it wasn't built on 5/23 -it was later in the week) had his Ford Pass Activation accepted and he can see his truck. This is where it was previously and it moved recently a bit closer back to the factory.

So we'll share some updates along the way as long as we can protect his identity so he isn't tracked through here and shut down.

Sometime last year, Ford was talking about shipping vehicles and having these chips installed at the dealer. You would think they would take the same approach. I mean it take about 14 days for the Truck to get to the dealer, you can overnight these chips.
Saw in another thread dealers have to pay interest back to Ford on the incomplete trucks? That would explain why dealers don't want incomplete trucks.

Thanks @GDN (and our activated friend)! If only Ford cared as much about circling back to our half-ass built trucks and completing them as they seem to about removing probably our best source of information about the status of our EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLAR TRUCKS, we might have a chance of seeing them before the end of the year.

Well I hope they are paying attention to those gas prices and rising interest rates, some of us might bail to other EV offerings and just wait for the 2nd gen.

I'm guessing that we don't have anyone else here getting any built or ship notices?
Still no shipped email. Still says "In Production" on 6/2 for me. I reached out to Ford Support via chat again today and they say my order still is listed with "chip shortage".

Also in my app it still says "Activation Pending"

Great to see you got someone to get a screenshot of their location. I hope they continue to see it moving with the next screenshot!

So here's a thought... how are they ensuring batteries on the chip "shorted" vehicles are being maintained properly for upcoming deliveries? Is this a valid concern?

Anything is possible, but I don't think there should be a concern. These batteries shouldn't lose more than 1 % a day if all is good and the trucks are sleeping properly. I would think they should easily be able to sit a few months with no issues.

Stay the course, by the time you get the Silverado your Lightning will look like a bargain at $80k (assuming Lariat).

Yeah people thinking they're gonna get a 400 mile truck at 50k are straight baselining hopes and dreams. And this Lariat comes out to $69.5k (Fed + state). Ford just came out and said rise in commodity prices literally wiped their Mach-E profits, so expect price raises for sure.

I have a very early EV Silverado reservation. It is prudent to keep it just in case I want to trade in once it finally hits the market. The Silverado is supposed to have more range and faster charging, but we'll see.

I also think the Lightning will have a great resale value...you probably will be able to sell or trade in at current MSRP or more for the next few years.

Ford probably won't be able to take anymore reservations(or stock dealers) until mid 2024.

I have a second very late Lightning reservation (early November) and a first 10 minute Silverado EV reservation. I was hoping that I would be late enough on the Lightning to get a second gen, but I could be wrong. I just wanted to keep, all options for a normal looking and acting pickup truck.

I’m definitely going to take delivery on the Lightning whenever that shall be. If the Silverado is what they say, I can always punt the Lightning or not.
I’ve been daily driving my Porsche Taycan for a year without issue. Has about a 250mi range. All the anxiety about how far…how long to charge has been unfounded for me personally. Yes you have to think a little harder about longer trips but we are on the front side of this technology and it’s only going to get better. We are experiencing the bumps of being early adopters. We truly are driving the future.
