So far my dealer has been great. I know they are going to try and force a couple of stupid dealer add ons like door ding and glass insurance on me, but they do answer my calls and look up information for me.

It's a small world too - I'm 200 miles from where I grew up in the middle of OK. A few weeks ago the Internet Manager at the dealer handed me off to one of the floor salesmen for follow up.

I recognized the guys name immediately. I went to church with his mom and family and knew him when he was a little kid. Hadn't seen him in probably 15 years. So it helps when there is a personal connection, but overall they've been very communicative and send updates.
You inspired me, just called my dealer and unless Ford chat was lying to me about my chip hold, I’m back to pending launch readiness. I’ll try to be optimistic like you are, my immediate assumption was Ford lost the truck or it blew up or otherwise ceased to exist.

I'm in a good shape again as well!

"I'm checking your order status and I see that your vehicle is: In Production - Produced - Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (revc), MI - Status as of June 3, 2022. The ETA is not listed. I see no holds or delays."

Also, another avenue to get updates the agent shared with me:

Ford New Vehicle Support Team 800-334-4375

Maybe not in November after all

I'm beginning to wonder if the Chip hold was some misinformation that got spread around.

I'm thinking there was a new software update that was in progress or something that Ford was applying to all newly built Lightning's and everything got held up for a couple of weeks while Ford gets it sorted out. Perhaps some modules that were delivered but improperly programmed and required an update.

I think it would be pretty easy to confuse a module software update with a chip issue.

Anything is possible, but my dealer told me it said "Chip Hold" so the misinformation would be inside Ford corporate and the systems were updated incorrectly. Also Fordauthority created a story about it - but that simply could have been based on our chatter here.

In a previous comment you can see where I pasted it directly from the Ford chat. Sure looked like a legit status from an ERP system the rep has access to.

Chat has been overwhelmed this morning.

I may have a bit of good news, my Chip Hold is GONE. - My dealer says my status it back to "Pending Final Launch" no more "Chip Hold". I'm hopeful some of them have been retrofitted and now headed to the rail cars.
Perhaps weeeeee no longer have a chip hold.. 🤞. Unfortunately i got the manager when i called the dealer this morning and all the dudes with the real info was off. 🤦‍♂️

I suppose "Chip Hold" could have multiple meanings. The worst case scenario is the vehicle is built and a chip needed to operate the vehicle is physically missing.
Maybe if we are lucky all of the chips were installed in our Lightning's and it was a programming or QA issue on the chips that could be fixed with a software update. Perhaps the update requires plugging into a device rather than an OTA update.

I just googled Ford Chat and hit the link. It only has 2 categories, Sync and another one. I chose the other one. Victoria was able to help.

Will you take delivery today or soon?
Likely not until next week. Dealer has to get the bed liner sprayed in (we thought it would hold up delivery when we ordered) and still have to see whether they can up their trade-in on our 2011 F350 diesel dually
