Well that's not good, ford does use bnsf.

Unless I am reading this wrong.. they will not ship cars at all Until late July.

I kind of would be surprised if ford didnt have some sort of long term contract that specifies a certain amount of capacity given they are shipping cars 24/7 all year along. Maybe that's not subject to embargo? But car makers do like just in time like purchases.

Looks like maybe they could still go north? They say the southern route is the reason, but do state all of CA deliveries.

Ford needs to fill truck beds with soybeans and they can get a permit :)

I was planning to use my truck in my "well regulated militia", so maybe I can get an exemption, otherwise itll infringe on my rights by not shipping my truck :)

Using the word 'embargo' usually means that they are invoking Force majeure contract provisions.

Even worse, connecting carriers won't accept traffic bound for embargoed destinations. They don't have any place to store it. The Dearborn lots will be super full, unless they find trucks or alternate rail routing. There may be alternate routing using Union Pacific, but it would have to be bound for auto ramps that are served by Union Pacific. Berkshire Hathaway's BNSF won't accept it until they lift the embargo. It could be lifted early or extended.

My 21 was delivered by UP to California, I expected the same with the Lightning, i didn’t know BNSF existed so Ford has used UP before but it seems like a longer route down to the West Coast.

Would be interesting if they adjusted production and sent more vehicles eastward as a result. I would imagine that'd be fairly easy for Ford to mitigate the impacts on their side.

Good luck finding an abundance of long-haul trucks. My neighbor is in the long haul trucking business…they are seeing an acute shortage of drivers, replacement vehicles for their aging fleet, and of all things….fuel additive (lack of plastic containers to ship it in).

Its a fine mess……..
