I personally had no choice but to get a different color. Wife twisted my arm after me getting white cars/trucks for a number of years... Oh well. Happy Wife, Happy Life

I originally was going to get Rapid Red, but my 2010 was white platinum and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would (after owning several dark colors recently), so after prodding from my wife, I went for Star White and it really is gorgeous in person!

Well - you have to consider the CEO. I've liked him and he has talked a good game the last year or two and they have the Lightning on the road, but I'm not sure he truly cares about the customer and communications, because we truly know how bad they are and nothing has changed. So I don't think he truly cares about the little things as much as he says, it hasn't changed. Every vehicle he makes is sold, does he really care?

A plague on large enterprises with entrenched mindsets, is no one willing to work harder to improve processes? Those simple efforts result in customer satisfaction, several of us life long Ford customers are not satisfied at the moment.

Personally understanding how large government bureaucracy can be stuck in its own mire with no operational will to improve or change, but profit seeking corporations which have a board of directors and investors both looking over their shoulders, they should be driven to be the best.

Ford is officially better at communicating than my dealer. I'd emailed my sales guy this morning after getting the shipped email, told him I didn't need the truck detailed through their machine wash and also needed a new buyers order for the bank, aaand nothing. Just got this email, called him and said my truck arrived - "Yeah, should have we got 4 in this morning. Saw your email that you don't want it detailed?"

Glad you saw it dude, try responding next time - he hasn't replied to my emails since I asked when I could get a test drive after their mannequin arrived a month ago. He "thinks" I should be able to pick up the truck on Thursday after they do whatever they feel like they need to do in a PDI... Oh well, in the home stretch now (I hope).

I got my picture today and decided to Chat with Ford.
Here is my answer as to where my truck is:



Thank you so much for allowing me that time to look that order information up for you, Jan. The vehicle has been shipped from the plant via rail. The railcar number is Railcar # TTGX159263. The carrier name is Norfolk Southern Corp. the current location of the vehicle is Ramp 58, Melvindale, MI and the ETA is 7/26/2022-8/1/2022. I would advise you to keep in contact with your dealer as the would have the most up to date information.

I was able to track the railcar by calling Norfolk Southern and entering the railcar info.

Call Norfolk Southern via 800-635-5768, and I'm happy to report it works!

Pressed 2 for Intermodal. Then 2 for tracing. follow the prompts to enter your railcar number.

It departed Bellview OH today which makes sense as it’s enroute to New Castle DE.

Finally some real movement!

The Communications, IT and Process management analysts as well their executive leaderships heads would roll if I were CEO of Ford Motor Company!

The stupid part is they don’t even have to make the picture timely, just change the e-mail copy to “here’s your new Lightning!” Or some other inane phrase that doesn’t require the e-mail to match up with any specific time in the process. It should take some low level marketing lackey 20 minutes to fix this.

So...I guess after having a couple chat sessions with FORD Chat the last couple weeks, I just got an email from FORD CANADA asking me for permission to continue receiving emails from them. I find that IRONIQ...especially when that's ALL that we want is some/better COMMUNICATION from FORD on updates on our LIGHTNINGS !!!

PS: Still NO shipping or ETA for delivery, so much for FORD keeping updated on status of My Lightning...and the wait CONTINUES !!!

My Delivery Estimate just updated forward a week, now 7/15 - 7/21.

The railcar tracking is a little strange. Ford CS says it was Norfolk Southern, but I was never able to track it with them, always came up empty. Tried CSX a couple days ago and they updated it with a rail yard in ATL (not the distribution point) on 7/12 at 1:21AM, but said it was empty. Then today they're saying it's at a rail yard a couple hours north as of 7/13 2:26PM. I guess I'm hopeful it was dropped at the vehicle distribution site (Poole's Creek) during the day on 7/11 and then the railcar moved on from there and is now headed back to Detroit to pickup somebody's else's Lightning.

Mine has now been sitting in the rail yard here in ATL for 9 days.

Delivery Estimated updated overnight to 7/20 - 7/26.

WOW!! That’s hilarious!! So they basically push a Body on wheels into a parking lot and finish it as parts show up!! Well done Ford…
