2023 Lightning New Colors: Avalanche Gray and Azure Gray Metallic (*Area 51)

Some new 2023 F-150 Lightning colors revealed on Ford's Dealer Connection site:

Avalanche Gray
Azure Gray Metallic

* Area 51 may also be coming - as recently spied on this F-150 Lightning prototype

So glad I was able to order Atlas Blue. This ‘23 palette is dreary. Azure Gray is probably restricted like Smoked Quartz.

No offense to the Antimatter Blue owners but that color is almost Black depending on the available lighting. So it's even more depressing that Ford has decided to shelve any sort of brighter Blue. Next thing you know the '24 models will all be in pastel shades. And we'll all think it's 1955 again.

You are right... last summer I was on a dealers lot and they had two ICE F-150's sitting side by side. it was a cloudy day and honestly I couldn't tell the two apart until I got within 15-20 feet and even then it wasn't much difference.

Bet has to do with paint shortages not what Ford wants.

Same happened to Mach-E which is now a bunch of greys + one red. Also when they dropped the Infinite blue on Mach-E there was conversation that it was a difficult and expensive color due to the tinted clear coat. The tech discussion went over my head but apparently it was a challenge to source correctly and match and install.

I would like to see the Lightning Pro available in Race Red like the rest of my 140 work truck fleet.



The only proper color for a Volvo was Rebel Blue found on my 2013 C30 Polestar.

I would go for that color on a Lightning.

It is indeed, you're absolutely correct. I saw that in FDRS when I looked up my VIN the first time. It shows both Atlas Blue and Artisan Blue

Also, Rapid Red is also known as 'Lucid Red' and 'Red Carpet', which is what shows up when I put the VIN for my Mach-E into FDRS...no mention of Rapid Red at all in FDRS.

I think there's an alternate name for Velocity Blue in FDRS as well but I'd have to look it up.

Looks like I'll have to keep my Atlas Blue truck until Ford comes to their senses and drops Lightning Blue back on us.

You would think that for a halo product that's supposed to be the most powerful F-150 Ford makes, that it would have a more impressive color palette to choose from.

I have seen the same thing between Chevrolet and GMC as well as with Volvo and Polestar. The funny thing is that on some product lines - e.g., Chevrolet and GMC, the same color on Chevrolet will be at no charge while its an upcharge for GMC. Go figure!

I would go for that color on a Lightning.

I would as well. If polestar blue was available on our xc40 EV I would not have been able to talk my wife out of it (not that I would want to). Too many boring colors out there (not that they don't look nice, but they are not very interesting).

I like my blues. I'm glad I ordered Atlas Blue (should been Lightning Blue for 2022).

I could see Lightning in Grabber Blue sitting next to a Mach E

It's strange that Ford isn't allowing you to order the Lightning in the same colors as the ICE F150. I can possibly see having "safe" colors shipped to dealers for stock (might be difficult to sell an oddball color to a walk-in) but in this case everything is a custom order.

making me lean to wards stone gray to try and stay under the 80k limit with a lariat.

I just wish I could see some of these colors in person and in the sun. When I dropped by some dealers recently they were kinda shy with inventory LOL.
