In theory, could you work with your dealer on a deal to get below msrp when a trade-in is involved? Thats how it's always been done anyway for different reasons.

And that Legal document is horrendously unreadable. Those people writing that need to be somehow forced to write intelligibly.

(I) in clause (i), by striking ‘‘4’’ 2 and inserting ‘‘7’’, and 3 (II) in clause (ii), by striking 4 ‘‘and’’ at the end, 5 (iv) in subparagraph (G), by striking 6 the period at the end and inserting ‘‘, 7 and’’, and 8 (v) by adding at the end the following:

Msrp is set by the manufacturer...it appears like the actual price you pay is not relevant.

If I'm reading this lawyer-speak right, this rebate would become effective January 1st next year (page 374, letter B) and end December 31st 2032 (page 384).

Unless specifically started in the Bill to revise prior law, (that's why it reads like mangled mess) then it would be from enactment date /s/ by POTUS forward......

The way I read it seems like the current rules (the rules in place the day before enactment of the bill) apply to any vehicles sold before Dec 30, but it was pretty hard to read some of it.

I am also not sure when enactment is -- I think maybe the signature date or after its published, etc? Either way, it sounds like we may be okay before Dec 31?

It would help if you posted what section or page you got that from.

This reads very similar to the language in the BBB draft. In that draft thr credits were retroactive to this tax year, but you had to claim on tax return. The point of sale rebate provision became eligible after Dec 31..

It sounds like this lines up perfectly for Ford more than anyone else since Ford will likely lose full rebate at end of year. Poor fools taking delivery of Tesla's right now til end of year will be out of luck. Not to mention the one guy who just bought a Bolt
