50% is terrible. An embarrassment, really. That's exactly what I was talking about. I suppose 50% isn't bad. Hopefully, the new EV tax credit legislation passes and we will get those numbers up. Chips act too.
85% or better. What do you feel would be an appropriate percentage? and would you be willing to pay a higher price to get to that number?
I believe the motors are produced at the Rawsonville Ford plant. Gearbox is produced at Van Dyke transmission. Every body panel is stamped at Dearborn Stamping. The part that surprises me is the "engine", wondering what the definition is on EVs? I thought the motors were made by Magna and assumed they were non-US content. Also, thought if there was listed Korean content, it may have been LG or SKI cells for the battery pak.
A lot of the jobs which involve mining the materials necessary to make our vehicles likely aren't coming back since the working conditions wouldn't make us better off.I'm not afraid to spend more for a quality, American made product. The more we build here, the better off everybody that lives here is.
Then it's our own fault when the supply base goes caput and screws us. Like the current chip shortage. Or the medical supplies during Covid.A lot of the jobs which involve mining the materials necessary to make our vehicles likely aren't coming back since the working conditions wouldn't make us better off.
This 100%!I'm not afraid to spend more for a quality, American made product. The more we build here, the better off everybody that lives here is.
I realized after I typed that that I sounded like I was in Tommy Boy.This 100%!
