All current owners, A few of us on twitter have been toying with an idea to have a meet up at the Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan on September 10th 2022. ! I'm going to sign up for a factory tour as well while we are there. Who else is interested in joining us?

Dearborn and the Rouge would be 855 miles for me, from Georgia, but 99% of that is I75 the whole way... I suspect if my PRO were to take me as much as 200 miles per charge, I would still have to stop 5 times... over two days, maybe three... but... (and I drive like a granny) ....

I'm not ruling it out: it's certainly an idea I'm also 'toying' with(sorry, but I don't do 'twitter' and old 'faceblock' and stuff like that. I'm REALLY old school: ever see the 'wireless phones' on Seinfeld?) : )

Let's see... that's 5 overnights in hotels(yucccck!), $90 in charging, meals, snacks, goodies, drinks, and somewhere to 'stop' for the 'rest'room, and commiserating with strangers.... hmmmmm.

Funny that you posted this. My son's landlord, who is in the 'tour' business, is taking a number of folks to the Rouge, from Georgia, for a tour Sept 11th.... hmmmmm. What a coinkidink.

Factory pickup is IMPOSSIBLE.

Factory pickup is not Ford's thing, nor most any other manufacturers, sans the few EV direct-to-customer factories. We don't realize what's involved in a 'factory pickup' - it's not easy. Factories deal with customers from any of the 50 states, territories, and anywhere else that have their own state 'laws' concerning vehicle purchases, and the TAXES or FEES that go with that, not to mention 'where' the send the Title, and what 'county' to send the collected taxes, and even the AMOUNT of the taxes, which can vary even by differing counties within the same state.
They don't want to hire and employ personnel and departments to handle that, that's what their dealers are for. Dealers are LOCAL. They know the area they serve, etc. Sure, dealers can sell out-of-state, but they don't like to, it's just a nightmare of taxes and regulatory transactions that they are not accustomed to.

I recently bought a new Kia Sorento PHEV in Ohio. I'm from Georgia. Those folks struggled and tried REALLY HARD to make it happen. It tooks "DAYS" for them to get all the information they needed, where to send it, etc., for me to purchase from another state. I had even called other dealers in Ohio and other states that do NOT sell over state lines, crazy as that seems.

Already going to the Rouge Factory Tour Aug 30th. Have a blend date of today the 26th. Hoping to see it going down the assembly line...lol.
