I decided to order it figuring there was a better chance that they would include it for free vs. give me a credit for something I didn't get. Its not worth the $500 but I won't feel too bad if I end paying for it.This shows in Ford's material that the charger was included, wonder who yo contact regarding that. Don't get me wrong...I'm extremely grateful for the price match for us extenders, but curious if the consider that part of this?
A good adapter like TeslaTap mini costs $250.Just add adapter.
You're adding kWh, not miles. In an hour, you'll add about 1 - 1.1 kWh.I have it and use it when inconvenient to go to a neighborhood Level 2 charger. I do not have access to a 249 volt outlet, so I am stuck with a 110/120 volt outlet.
In 13.25 hours, I have added 33 miles.
120v outlet could charge 1.3kWh to my experience based on Telsa and Prius Prime. You're adding kWh, not miles. In an hour, you'll add about 1 - 1.1 kWh.
13.25 x 1.1 = 14.85kWh
33/14.85 = 3.3 miles. Looks right on for warm weather charging and usage.
Unless you must buy a 48A adapter. 30A version is cheaper. The Tesla mobile charger is attractive, but the price of those adapters makes it much less so. It's going to be close to $500 once you add on the adapter. I'm better off getting a 40amp 15-40 Charger. Anyone have recommendations? Amazon is flooded with different products.
Also, is wifi on the charger worth it? Or should I control all charge settings thru the truck? (Basically is it better to automate charging and settings via charger app or via truck)
Not with the Ford Mobile Charger it won't, at least based on everything I have read and experienced.120v outlet could charge 1.3kWh to my experience based on Telsa and Prius Prime.
I'm using a 14-50 outlet so 40amp max, I would rather 40amp than a lower amp. I think someone mentioned it's roughly a 25% speed increase over the 30amp. Speed at home is a little bit if a bigger deal as my truck, at times, is only parked at home from 11pm-6am. Should still be fine most days...but I have the amperage and would prefer to maximize it.Unless you must buy a 48A adapter. 30A version is cheaper.

If you can only charge 11pm-6am and drive a lot, 48A makes more sense, or probably 80A.I'm using a 14-50 outlet so 40amp max, I would rather 40amp than a lower amp.
