Okay now I feel a little stupid. Where did you learn SunRun is the distributer? I must have missed this somewhere in the order process; I assumed they only need to be involved if you wanted to use the "preferred installer" for the whole home backup system.

Would have been nice if they left a voicemail one of those 78 times...

Here is my chat update.

As you can see, the ETA that these chat agents give are worthless. How can an ETA of the 2nd - 9th be logical if the truck in on hold in the factory.

BTW - the Canadian track site just worked for the first time today

Few people in the 8/15 group moved out of chip hold. Their ETA got adjusted roughly by 2 weeks. I am expecting the same. I didn't see anyone reporting an ETA update while they were on hold, not sure if that is always the case.

The last few people that moved to from production to built, are running between 15 and 18 days. If that holds, it'll be any time between now and Sat given your 8/26 production date. I am 5 days behind you. This is just a super rough guess because who knows what's really going on with the chips

@sparta, I learned alot about SunRun's reputation from this board and YouTube. There was also some information on Ford.com about the intellegent backup system which mentions them which had me digging for information. InsideEVs and State of Charge on the YouTube.

@sparta, I learned alot about SunRun's reputation from this board and YouTube. There was also some information on Ford.com about the intellegent backup system which mentions them which had me digging for information. InsideEVs and State of Charge on the YouTube.

SunRun never had a good reputation in my mind, but this forum has certainly solidified that impression.

I have a good local installer I would use if I needed anything modified.

I'm honestly thinking of sticking with my trusty Juicebox Pro 40 until I can figure out a permanent place for the higher power charger. A little spooked by the discussions on overheating and weatherproofing as I'd likely need to install it outside on a south facing wall that is constantly in the sun.

At this stage I wouldn't put on outside south facing wall especially if you are in a hot climate. I hear some people don't have issue now but I still hear many do. Maybe it is lack of firmware update. Noone knows why. You can always run a small panel to the location with the future proof gauge wire, hook in a lower amperage charger, eg. Emporia. Then swap it out later with the 76A(not actually 80) if all is well, or sell the FCSP if you determine 48A is enough.

If you are putting in the HIS then of course you need it.

I'm using one of worlds largest neural networks by OpenAI and have been doing some beta testing of the visual intelligence of the system using section called Dalle-2.

There are many blooper creations that precede the final because the computer takes things literally. Some of the conversations I've had with it are really amazing (and scary when we covered the topic of the necessity of humans to its own education) You really can't tell it's not human sometimes. Google, Tesla, etc has their own system and a high level researcher got fired in google for saying it was sentient a few months ago. But if it is not now, it will be within a few years as these machines are learning so quickly. I believe this type of neural computing is what is driving some of the backend of Tesla auto driving intelligence. I'm not sure how Blue Cruise does it but I think it's a lot more rudimentary than Tesla. For those not familiar a neural network is modeled after the brain. Rather than 1's and 0's everything is weighted. Good results get weighted more and bad weighted less. So the system creates information by learning from the past alot like how the brain stores info. The difference is these system have perfect memory of everything that has ever happened and instant recall. On other hand the machines can't create these pictures alone because they would not know what is important or relevant. So at least for now they are a tool just like a wrench or ohmmeter.

Now the bad part...one real danger of the technology is it will be possible in a short time for anyone to create deep fake images and videos using peoples faces. Presently the system bans those cases with human faces and the AI will simply refuse to compute. However you can imagine bad actors, e..g Russia, using this to create viral discord in democracies in future. You will have to question everything you see in the future with this technology. Even more so than now.

Extremely interesting stuff! Did not expect a forum thread for impatient EV truck fans to turn so existential… the deep fake videos they put out already are terrifying, can’t imagine what the future will hold.

Back on topic, I was pretty delinquent in securing financing for my truck and now need to deal with the inflated interest rates. Lowest I could find locally was Merrimack valley CU in Massachusetts (3.5 to 3.74%). What are all you doing for financing?
